Although iTunes has always been one of the best pieces of jukebox software available, the company improved upon a great thing with version 7, which added enhanced video capabilities and new ways to view your music library. A cleaned-up left sidebar makes finding your music and videos a snap and the new Album and Cover-Flow view options let you flip through CDs in style. The built-in video player accomodates both your own files and ones you buy at the iTunes Store; right-clicking a clip lets you render it iPod-compatible. With the addition of full-length movies at the iTunes Store (Music is no longer part of the name), you can now view near-DVD quality movies at a resolution of 640x480. The experience of both purchasing and playing movies and videos is almost identical to perfoming the same actions with music, so seasoned users will have no trouble (with fast broadband, movies download in about a half hour).
All the features we love from past versions are still intact, including seamless iPod integration, smart playlists, CD burning, label printing, the ability to rip files in multiple formats (except WMA), network sharing, and, of course, the enormously successful iTunes Store. Rounding out the feature set are parental controls, integrated podcasts, and a smart-shuffle option. Whether you're already among the converted or have yet to try this top-notch player, iTunes 7 should find a home on any media junkie's computer.

Publisher's description
From Apple :iTunes, the award-winning digital-jukebox software, is now available for Mac and Windows. The iTunes Music Store offers Windows users the same online music store as Mac users, with the same music catalog, the same personal-use rights, and the same 99-cents-per-song pricing. With music from all five major music companies and more than 600 independent labels, the iTunes Music Store catalog now offers more than 1,000,000 songs. Features include a free download with no hidden charges for extra features, MP3 and pristine-quality AAC-encoding from audio CDs, smart playlists, more than 250 free Internet radio stations, and the ability to burn custom playlists to CDs and MP3 CDs, to burn content to DVDs to back up an entire music collection, and to share music via Rendezvous over any network, cross-platform.
Version 7 adds navigation by album covers with Cover Flow, backup features, Apple Software Update for Windows, and high-quality feature movies for preview and purchase. iTunes 7.1 lets you enjoy your favorite iTunes movies, TV shows, music, and more from the comfort of your living room with Apple TV. iTunes 7.1 also supports a new full screen Cover Flow and improved sorting options. iTunes 7.1 also addresses a number of compatibility issues with Windows Vista.

Version: iTunes for Windows 7.1
Pros: For use with my iPod, this program works very well, never had any problems. If you have an iPod, you had better download a version of iTunes.
Great equalizer (10-band).
But there is just so much room for improvement.
Cons: Media LIBRARY? Pain in the rear. I already know what songs I have, and where they are on my computer. No thank you.
Playlists? I don't like them, I prefer to sort my songs into different folders on my desktop (a much more stable way to sort your songs). This forces you to use playlists on your iPod, you can't make folders. It is sooo backwards.
Furthermore, songs are NOT saved onto the iPod as mp3s or wmas, they are saved as junk files (which play just fine) but can't be copied directly onto a computer without going through some stupid program, like iTunes.
Plus the program LOOKS like Mac, not Windows. But I can live with that.
This IS a good program (plus you basically have to use it), but they could do so much better. Still prefer Winamp for audio and GOM player for video.

Version: iTunes for Windows 7.1
Pros: I use iTunes for a very long time. The new version offers (once again) more and more options. Some are good but some others are really bad ... see below.
Cons: The replay of music videos is still a problem. The handling becomes worse and worse and the system requirements continue to rise.. Sorry but the first version of iTunes was the best.

Version: iTunes for Windows 7.1
"If only it looked like the rest of Windows..."
Pros: The iTunes store is about the best of it's kind.
A must have for iPod owners (I'm not one of them).
The sorting features are superb. Bar none.
Cons: 's a cool looking progran and blends well with the Mac OS X GUI. However, this version is is not for OS X. I'd prefer a traditional Windows interface and maybe a skinnable one as well.
It doesn't work with WMA files. Windows users are more likely to have those than AACs.
I'm franky not fond of any Windows-based audio software I've tried, but for Windows users that don't own an iPod, Windows Media Player 11 is a better choice.
This version is supposed to work with Windows Vista. As of this writing Apple ohnly says Windows 2000/XP (despite what CNet says) and in fact, it works a bit better but is still buggy with Vista.

Version: iTunes for Windows 7.1
"Does crash too often and doesnt open at all sometimes"
Pros: Well dont like it anymore. Will get an alternative.
Cons: I wish I still had the classic version of itunes. Not with all this video crap. Now my quicktime movie player stopped working after installing the latest itunes or itunes itself just doesnt seem to respond.
