Publisher's Description
From crispSofties:
Unlike other iPod copy tools, iPod.iTunes provides real synchronization of MP3/AAC tracks and even playlists entries from your iPod(s) to your Mac(s). iPod.iTunes saves your time because it automatically only copies those tracks which are missing in the iTunes library, excluding duplicates. It provides also an option to build a list of tracks which are not in iTunes and to copy only desired tracks from that list.
iPod.iTunes can be used to
- Keep music and playlists on different Macs up to date
- Do a full restore of tracks and playlists - i.e. after a hard disk failure
- Revert accident deletion of tracks and/or playlists, if these are still on your iPod
- Clone an iPod
- Transfer an entire music library from one Mac to another via the iPod
With every synchronization iPod.iTunes creates a date & time stamped iTunes playlist containing the tracks which were copied. This gives the option to easily add those tracks to existing playlists or to create new ones from the transferred tracks.

"Essential ap"
Version: iPod.iTunes 4.6.5
Pros
Allows you to move selected material off your iPod and into iTunes.
Cons
None I can think of. The program has evolved from a bare-bones "move all" application to a very flexible one.
Summary
While it may be less intuitive than some apps, this is a dependable piece of software that has rescued my iPod contents, saving me hours if not days of reinstalling on more than one occasion.

"Puts music from iPod back onto your computer."
Version: iPod.iTunes 4.4.1
Pros
If you haven't backed up your computer's hard drive and it crashes, iPod.iTunes allows you to restore the music to your computer from the iPod. I've needed it twice, and boy was I grateful for it. My daughter would have lost all her music otherwise
Cons
User interface could be simplified.
Summary
This is a great program for transferring music FROM your iPod to a hard drive. Magnificent for kids, who tend not to back up their computers. If your son's or daughter's hard drive crashes, they can put their music back onto their computer from their iPod.

"Messed everything up."
Version: iPod.iTunes 4.1.6

After using this product in trial mode, everything was messed up. I was hoping for identical copies of my iTunes library on my Mac, my iPod and my second Mac (which I use as a media player) . Instead I got duplicates and triplicates of music files on the second Mac, the library on my iPod was synched to the second Mac and refused to synch with the primary Mac. I had to do a full restore of the iPod and the iTunes library on the second Mac. Several hours lost.
Stay away from this program. -

Yeah, I have one of the first 500 original iPods and tried a couple of pod tools before sticking with this for over 6 years. Now I'm onto my 3 personal ipod and wouldn't consider using the std iTunes Sync to organize the variety of Macs I use at home and work..
iPod.iTunes keeps getting better and allows control that my iTunes just gets in the way of without wasting company Macs disk and backup.
Been through G3,G4,G5, MacIntels, desktop and portables. With over 36,000 songs, audiobooks, podcasts, it takes a while to grind through the several dozen playlists that I keep centralized on my home central server.
I always wait until its updated before considering an iTunes upgrade because its become a utility that makes the base iTunes more valuable.

My hard drive crashed a few days ago and iPod.iTunes allowed me to successfully restore the contents of my iPod to my iTunes library. I am very happy that I don't have to spend hours of time re-copying CD's and re-downloading my audiobooks. I found the product to be easy to use and well worth the $40 US cost. -
"This is the best! It saved my life!"

For some reason I lost my iTunes library.
By chance my classic iPod had everything on it.
I tried all the software to recover my library (I still had the files on my Mac BUT I wanted to recover everything that makes great an iTunes library: notations, last played, number of times played...)
AND NOT any program worked as advertised!
UNTIL I found iPod.iTunes that is!
This great program recovered all my library from my iPod to my iTunes!!!
So this is THE BEST! -

It is rare to come across a product that does what is supposed to, not only does it but does it easily and well. iPod.iTunes is one of the few products I have run across that really does work like it is supposed to. I lost most of the music on my laptop. With iPod.iTunes I was easily able to recover the lost music from my iPod. It gives extremely good value for the money invested. Kudos to Cris. -
"Can't move around without it."

This is a great utility. I bought this as shareware (iPod2iTunes) 5 years ago and kept it up to date ever since. iPod-iTunes does just what it is designed to do ; move those tunes to and from my multiple ipods and Macs . I work at 3 locales and juggle 4 iPods, all legit as they are included in my itunes account list. I also keep a well structured music Library of 20,000+ with extra tags. So yeah update checking can take awhile since Apple went to USB only connection . The fire wire ones still scream.
Its functions are so valuable , I now wait to update iTunes until after iPod-iTunes gets released for the new iTunes. The longest delay was only two weeks ( The guy was at the developers conference so couldn't get it out within a few days.).
For Support, I'd sent an issue via email about 3 years ago on a major upgrade. Got appropriate response. (From a non-native english speaker,it was accurate, good and timely). Its a very simple utility to use so Documentation is nearly nil.
Buy and enjoy -

"Seems excellent to me!"
Version: iPod.iTunes 3.3.8
Summary

I've tried various trial versions of programs to load files from iPod to iTunes. I've paid for this one even though it is more expensive. It synced perfectly with no duplicates. The metadata was all transferred correctly.
It pays to read the instructions over until fully understood first. The guy isn't English so the way they are written is a little hard to understand. The use of playlists takes a little getting used to, but it seems to work just as described.
I would recommend this.
