Although there have been several shareware choices to allow you to copy songs from your iPod to your computer, the freeware field has been empty--until now.
iDump offers a clean, spreadsheet-style layout that displays all music on your iPod. That lengthy list can be narrowed via the search function. Songs can be organized by terms as familiar as song name or artist to the more esoteric year, bit rate, or even location on the iPod. The app displays the song's iPod path, cracking Apple's unusual file-saving protocol. A main window tab takes you to output options, and from there you just have to choose your songs and hit Copy. Clicking once on a song selects it, and there's also a smart feature that plays the song you've selected in iTunes. Clocking in at under 1MB, iDump is small enough to live on your iPod. We'll let you figure out why that's a good thing.
iDump does have some stability problems, and it doesn't automatically import backed-up songs into iTunes once they've been copied to your hard drive, a definite drawback. Those are small quibbles, though, compared to what you get for free.
Publisher's description
From CodersHole :This program will allow you copy your songs from your iPod to a PC, iDump does come wrapped in installer but you can simply drop the .exe in the root directory on your iPod and run it from there. Connect your iPod and run iDump and you'll have access to all your songs, select the songs you want to transfer then pick a destination directory and how you would like your songs to be named. And then sit back and copy all the selected songs to the PC.

Version: iDump 26
Pros: Pros: Easily loads and transfers to any folder you want
NOTE: Be sure to check how you want your songs to be transferred. It you choose to have each sorted by artist/album/song...be wary, this means it'll create a folder for each; separate each artist into it's own folder! Then you click the folder and get another folder for "album", open that then you finally get the song, etc...I accidently did this, what a hassle <_<
Cons: Cons: Doesn't delete songs from Ipod after transfer...That may or may not be a con, but I was hoping iDump would do so. But then again, iTunes would be forgotten, at least by mean if it did such :P. So use your iTunes to delete unless or other way.
