Although you can tune in to your favorite radio station with this toolbar, it doesn't offer much else more than a standard toolbar. eKiDe Toolbar FF includes several radio stations, mostly in the hip hop/R&B genre, and you can add your own favorites.
A good amount of real estate is given to a button to launch eKiDe.org. However, the button doesn't work and the site was under construction during our tests. The typical inclusions, such as links to view news, stocks, and shopping, are available, and the bar is fully customizable with quick launchers to several Microsoft Office applications and others. Internet searches are powered by Google, and the toolbar's highlighter makes it easy to spot keywords. Expected features, such as browser and search history cleaners, weather forecasts, and e-mail alerts for Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, and POP3 accounts, all worked fine.
Unfortunately, all of the pop-ups we encountered while surfing weren't killed when we enabled the toolbar's pop-up blocker. All of the included features on eKiDe Toolbar FF are readily available on other toolbars and then some. Even so, this freeware is suitable for Firefox users who are simply interested in the basics.
