Publisher's description
From Swing :We propose a very good tool for FORTRAN to Visual BASIC source code conversion. It manages to translate more than 90 % (in some cases 100 %) of FORTRAN commands into VB. This tool is itself written in VB. What the converter can translate: Variables Declarations, The IF commands, Beginnings and ends of procedures, The DO commands (several syntaxes), Write and print, in a textual file Extractions of chains (nn:mm), etc.

Version: conv_for_bas 2.2
"Needs more testing, dosn't work."
Pros: Good idea and would be useful. I would purchase this product if made more robust.
Cons: Version 2.2 is half way there. Needs more testing, dosn't convert some code elements and completely destroys some.
Summary: Example failures
if (length.eq.0)goto 140
Converts to
if (length = 0) then oto L140
if (idot.eq.0) then
tmpa82=str$trim(3,datafile,datafile,tmpa83)
idot=tmpa83
