This addictive and amusing game combines elements from both the puzzle and space-shooter genres. You play Zzed, an intergalactic garbage man who must clean up litter in outer space. From your spacecraft, you fire colored meteorites at other colored meteorites to make combos of three or more. However, you must take care not to let the space debris advance in close enough to destroy your ship. Zzed's cartoon-style graphics fit the bill just fine, and the energetic theme music doesn't disappoint. The feature set is by no means enormous, but at least you can adjust the audio volume and choose to play in windowed mode. The 40-minute trial restriction seems a bit parsimonious to us, but it should give you enough time to decide whether the game is worth buying. Fans of arcade-style shooters, Lines-type games, or both should have a look at Zzed.

Zzed is a new type of puzzler-shooter game that requires quick thinking, good reaction, and excellent stress management skills. Space waste management may not sound like the most exciting job in the universe, but Zzed had to take the job so he could marry his lovely green alien sweetheart. At the time, he did not know his boss was the most corrupted extraterrestrial west of Sirius. And when he found out, he got sent away to the farthest corners of his galaxy, where he was sure to get crushed by space garbage. Will he die? It's up to you now. Even alien love stories need to have a happy ending.
