Publisher's description of ZoneAlarm (Windows Vista)
From ZoneAlarm:ZoneAlarm is designed to protect your DSL- or cable-connected PC from hackers. This program includes four interlocking security services: a firewall, an application control, an Internet lock, and Zones. The firewall controls the door to your computer and allows only traffic you understand and initiate. The application control allows you to decide which applications can and cannot use the Internet. The Internet lock blocks Internet traffic while your computer is unattended or while you're not using the Internet, and it can be activated automatically with your computer's screensaver or after a set period of inactivity. Zones monitor all activity on your computer and alert you when a new application attempts to access the Internet.

Version: ZoneAlarm (Windows Vista) 8.0.065
"Maybee I can help. No guarantees!"
Pros: I bought my "Vista" computer a few weeks before "Zone Alarm" released version 7.1. At the time it was the only free firewall for "Vista" and other then being slow (the last application to start with windows), I had none of these issues described in other users reviews. Then they split up the firewall into separate versions and something wend terribly wrong. "ZoneAlarm (Windows Vista) 7.1" just doesn't work. It's an unfortunate situation for those looking for a good, free "Vista" compatible firewall. Since then, I've moved on to "Kaspersky Internet Suite 7" and my computer runs great. I saved the original "Zone Alarm Free" that works good with "Vista", just in case I ever need it. I would like to help the people having these problems and I can email the self extracting installer to anyone wanting to try it. I can't promise it will work, but it might be worth a try. The extractor is only 201 KB so it should email fine. If anyone wants to give it a try, leave an email address in a comment to this post. This is a pre, this version release and might do the trick. I have to say, up front though, it will be a try at your own risk thing.

Version: ZoneAlarm (Windows Vista) 8.0.065
Pros: Easy to use interface. Two way firewall, blocks hacker and intrusion. It can resist malware attacks.Let's users control which programs are allowed to access the internet.Has a lock down feature.
Cons: Slower stratup.Sometimes it crashes and freezes and causes blue screen of death.Doesn't offer any updates but this feature is in the pro version.Bombards users with popup alerts.I simply recommend Comodo firewall becuase it's much powerful than Zonealarm and dosen't crash or freeze.
