Along with its effective and easy-to-use firewall protection, ZoneAlarm with Antivirus adds virus features and security controls. The most notable improvement in this latest release is an enhanced triple-layer firewall, which now safeguards your machine's OS and Registry. ZoneAlarm's wizard makes configuring a firewall incredibly easy. Maintaining and updating settings also is a snap when using the application's stylish interface and its simple slider controls. Experts will appreciate options that let them set up custom rules. The program's Zones feature also allows you to assign different security levels for a local network and for the Internet. We found ZoneAlarm with Antivirus very good at recognizing and automatically including settings for our local network. In all our tests, the firewall guarded against all external and internal threats it encountered.
Beyond the firewall function, ZoneAlarm with Antivirus includes an antivirus scanner, based on Computer Associates' Vet Anti-Virus, that blocks both incoming and outgoing viruses. The most intriguing aspect of this feature is its Advanced Heuristic Detection algorithm, which uses behavior analysis to detect suspicious actions caused by brand-new viruses that haven't yet made it into the virus-definitions database. Though this version of ZoneAlarm lacks the privacy and identity features of the Pro version, users who are satisfied with their existing privacy-protection tools may find ZoneAlarm with Antivirus fits their needs.

Version: ZoneAlarm Antivirus 6.1.737
"It passes all of Sygates Security Scans! Antivirus updates all the time!"
Pros: First I did not believe that it was any idea to combine a "firewall software with a antivirus software", but now, I think, it is a very good idea! If it is combined, there will, probably, be no conflicts between the "two softwares"! They are made for each other! Excellent! The antivirus function updates all the time. Zone Labs has a very, very, genuine reputation. Their firewall softwares are the best or among the very best you can get!
I have, also, tested this software against all of Sygates security scans online, that is Quick scan, Stealth scan, Trojan scan, TCP scan and UDP scan, and it passed all the tests! All ports were hidden (stealth mode). This software is a software, I believe, that you can TRUST, and that is, especially, when it comes to SECURITY, all that counts! I think Zone Labs are very aware of that their customers demands "TRUST". That is, I believe, why they are among the leaders! Excellent! Bjorn Lundahl, Gothenburg, Sweden

"I love it when the Big Guys get beat!"
Pros: Here's the dark horse of security software. The freeware/shareware firewall that's been around for years has proven itself outstandingly.
I use the antivirus/firewall and it doesn't slow down my system the way Norton did. It's easy to use and has very clean, straightforward features. No digging through multiple layers of screens for the settings.
The only time I ever had a problem with it was back when I was trying to use ZoneAlarm's firewall with Norton's antivirus. The two conflicted somehow and caused the system to become unstable. With ZoneAlarm antivirus/firewall alone, I have no problems.
You can't beat the price, either. It's downright cheap compared to Norton.
They're helping get us out from under the software giants, so if you can afford their very reasonable license fee, maybe you should pay it. Even I paid it, and I'm not known for doing that.

"Far, far better that norton, macafee etc"
Pros: Like another reviewer says at the top of this page I also love it when the big guys get beat. It's just that the little guys dont usually beat the big guys so comprehensively.
Much lighter on Ram usage than norton and far far better on cpu usage system during scans.
I have used Zone Alarm firewall for years and years and it is the best out there. Running discretely in the background it keeps your pc safe as houses.
This program combines the seemingly impenetrable firewall with an anti virus program and succeeds where other "all in one" internet security suites fail, despite costing up to 10 times more than the yearly subscription to zonealarm antivirus.
When surfing the net zone alarm alerts you of intrusions and virus alerts but I have found that this program is so solid that these messages can be turned off and the program can be left to its own devices to protect my computer as it sees fit.
There is no better product out there in my opinion.
Cons: Took quite a bit longer than Norton to perform a full system scan, but this is probably a good thing as this program hoovered up all the mess that norton left behind on my system.
In fact this is an outstanding program so if you haven't already done so download it NOW.

Version: ZoneAlarm Antivirus 6.1.737
Pros: Easy installation, configuration, ok interface, nice blocking (hackers)
Cons: I tried from free to security suite before
and security suite and anti-virus edition don't auto block worms etc!
Security suite 6.1 is $H!7 because it doesn't auto block. How do I know this??
well I've got a computer full of viruses on purpose to test softwares to see if it actually detects it =D (don't worry it's just my testing computer =))
But nope! it didn't detect any. Oh and zonelabs people said that the anti-virus edition or security suite don't find many trojans -.-"
I do not recommend this product sorry!
I recommend Norton internet security 2006 - it install fast (2+ minute it took me to install) fast scanning etc.

"Dreadfull - causes system instability"
Pros: Used to be great.
Cons: Terrible system instability. All solved by it's removal. Zone Alarms own forum is full of users (some who know exactly what they're talking about)complaining about the software, yet no notice is being taken.
