Publisher's Description
From Dare to be Creative:
"Yum!" is a stand-alone recipe collection application with a very small RAM and HD footprint, featuring:
- Auto-completion for ingredients entry.
- Dynamic searching of all text - found set of recipes updated as you type the search terms.
- Indexing by category - each recipe can belong to any number of user-defined categories.
- Several printing options - 1 recipe, all recipes, selected recipes, all recipes in selected category, found recipes. Let's face it, who can afford to have the computer itself in the kitchen and operate it with flour and eggs all over their hands?
- Recipe text can be fully formatted including fonts, styles, paragraph settings, and even graphics (copy and paste, or drag and drop) so that pictures of your recipes can be included anywhere within the recipe text.
- Recipes can be imported from MasterCook export files, or from other Yum! files, and can be exported to Yum! files or to text files.
What's new in this version:
- The application has been re-written from scratch, using only a few essential snippets of code from the previous version.
- Multiple collection document windows can be open simultaneously.
- Multiple recipe windows from the same document can be open simultaneously.
- Revert to saved feature has been implemented.
- The "Recipes" and "Categories" tables in the main document window have swapped positions (due to popular demand) and now behave more like the iTunes playlists, or the O... See all new features

"This program solved all my problems"
Version: Yum! 4.0.4
Pros
Easy to use. Gets better with each new version. I have used this program since version 1.0
Cons
No cons at this time.
Summary
Keep it coming.

"Submitted a comment on the report a problem interface."
Version: Yum! 4.0.4
Pros
The original version was a jewel
Cons
The later versions have lots of difficulties: Updates yields multiple copies of the recipes, and just try and delete them....Good luck!

"Yum Fold, read your own review!"
Version: Yum! 4.0.4
Pros
The old version. Used to like the program but then they went and "improved" it!
Cons
Read the other reviews that have one star and add mine to the list.
Summary
Hey, you guys and gals at Yum downgrade it to the old version.

"Used to work as version 3"
Version: Yum! 4.0.3
Pros
Cloud? Who knows since the software version 4 doesn't work
Cons
The software duplicates the number of recipes every time turned on. This is an exponential problem. Also, there no longer is a list view, just the pictures, which don't even display the whole recipe's name!
Summary
THey have ruined a perfectly good program. Go back to version 3 features!

"Great recipe app with iPhone Integration"
Version: Yum! 4.0.3
Pros
iPhone integration, timely updates, excellent customer support
Cons
Desperately need iPad integration
-
"Gets worse with each update"
Version: Yum! 4.0.2
Pros
appealing graphics
Cons
clumsy interface, extremely buggy
Summary
I agree with the other reviewers-earlier versions of the software worked fine. I don't see why it was changed for the worse. The fact that every time you open your recipe file, the program adds an additional copy to the existing recipes is insane. I have six copies of the same recipes now. All the categories I created are essentially irrelevant in the new version, because it forces you to use its own list of general recipe labels. And the display, though pretty, does not show full recipe titles. I'm transferring all my recipes to Bento, which works well, is customizable, and actually improves with each upgrade.

"A great program totally trashed"
Version: Yum! 4.0.2
Pros
No deaths so far attributed to this software (as far as I know)
Cons
Cumbersome, buggy, unhelpful, difficult to use, poorly organized, etc. etc. etc.
Summary
Really used to like Yim, especially with the iPhone version I could take with me to the market, but the upgrade with the new user interface is just horrible. 1st the recipes are listed as little images without enough room to actually print the name of the recipe so you can't really tell what it is without opening it and loosing your place in the list. Then when you try to create a new recipe the format makes it difficult to paste the recipe instructions. There's no opportunity to format the instructions. I could go on... now today I suddenly find a bunch of recipes in the file that I never entered! Who knows where they came from. I really miss the old Yum. This thing sucks. Anyone know of a goof recipe program I can change to?

"THey broke a great program"
Version: Yum! 4.0.2
Pros
It doesn't blow up your computer
Cons
Yum also was one of my wife's favorites but the new version doubles the recorded recipes each time she opens it. Does not provide a list format.
Summary
Not ready for prime time. Hard to believe that this was released in this condition.

"Keep version 3.2"
Version: Yum! 4.0.2
Pros
None that I can think of.
Cons
Simply does not work. Crashes every time I open it.
Summary
My wife's favorite program is Yum version 3.2. This version will open her old file but then crashes immediately. I am using OS 10.6.4. Old version works fine. No other problems with any other application.
New version not ready for release. -
"Not worth it!"
Version: Yum! 4.0.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
this clown wants $30 for a product who's features haven't significantly improved from the older free version. Some people just need to step back and ask their closest friends "Does this make me look fat?" and take their advise. I'm sticking with the older version.
