The YouTube Free Downloader is mainly an application for downloading and converting YouTube videos to MP3, but it also offers many other entertainment features.
The main feature of this software, the YouTube audio download, works really well. There appears to be only one format option (MP3), but most computers and devices do support that. The best part of this program is that you can search for a song or an artist's name as well as enter the URL. Many similar apps usually need a URL. With this, you can search through a list and find the one that best fits your needs. A 3-minute song will only take a couple minutes to download, while obviously, longer audio will take more time, since the file size influences the speed. We were surprised to see all the other features of this software once it was downloaded. You can view and download videos, watch TV, listen to Radio, play Games and Chat. The Chat seems a little odd, but the other features were interesting. You won't get every radio station or TV station, but it does work pretty well. You can also change the appearance of the page with Skins, and change Font size in View. The Help page doesn't have much on it, but it does offer a way to contact Support if you have any issues or questions.
The download and installation didn't cause any issues. It was all very simple and quick, so overall this software gave a good first impression.

Summary
I had been using another converter for years. I loved it. It was simple and quick. However after having to install a new HD I had to "upgrade" to the newest version of the converter. Simply put: I hated it.
I am so glad I found this converter. It does what I need quickly and easily. It also adds much more functionality than the other converter I had used previously. -

After you uninstall it's toolbar, it surreptitiously installs search.incredibar.com as your default search engine. I've learnt not to trust CNet's assurances of "spyware and adware free"

Videos saved in mp4 are added to iTunes. They play well once transferred to a USB hard drive and viewed on my PS3.Cons

watch out for the standard "i'll change your homepage and toolbars" of any free piece of software, no bigie though. Its a little slow, but worth it for quality that is identical to youtube's. automatically opens itunes

This is a nice full featured YouTube downloader and MP3 converter. Easy to cut and past your YouTube URL. Downloads are fast with a lot of convertion options. Over all great product.

Downloads automatically do to iTunes, but I would like the downloads to automatically and to my Zune. M
