Publisher's description of Xplorer2 1.6.5.3
From Zavarakatranemia:Xplorer2 is a file and information manager that adheres to the philosophy efficiency through simplicity. Without reinventing the wheel, it integrates the best features of Windows shell architecture in a small, resource efficient package that's instantly familiar to work with. But look a little closer and you'll discover a whole new world under the surface that offers power, precision and flexibility and will boost your everyday productivity.
Version 1.6.5.3 includes a Bookmark pane (mini scrap) for easy access to your favorite folders and programs and fuzzy name search, among other improvements.

- Version reviewed: Xplorer2 1.6.5.3
Eat your heart out, Windows Explorer. This powerhouse file manager beats the pants off Microsoft's built-in utility on almost every count. Start with the interface: Xplorer2 lets you browse two or more folders in one window using panes (as in Total Commander or FAR) and tabs.
You can save several window layouts and quickly switch among them when necessary. Visual filters let you more easily navigate overcrowded directories. Selecting several files is a breeze, since you don't have to hold down the Ctrl key. Xplorer2's tweaks aren't limited to the interface, either. You can rename multiple files at once, split and merge files, synchronize folders, and shred data to prevent recovery.
The program supports NTFS hard links (which are more powerful than shortcuts, allowing you, for instance, to move the source file without breaking a link). An enhanced DOS command line lets you create scripts for processing file batches. All in all, there's a good chance you won't go back to Windows Explorer once you get a look at Xplorer2.

"Get rid of windows explorer. This is it"
Pros: great features. Love autocompletion. Love color coding. Prefer this over Directory Opus. Better price too.
Cons: The author should study Directory Opus colors, toolbars, and usability. It would be nice to have some of those things in x2. Otherwise, the features outweigh the flash.

"The file manager windows used to have -- and still ought to."
Pros: Provides real control over file management without the cute BS of Windows Explorer. Clear, obvious, and easy to use. Plus extra features MS never thought of. A great, stable product I can't do without.

"xplorer2 kicks microsoft butt! BIG TIME!"
Pros: Not very different from the normal explorer that comes with your windows, but after a few minutes of use the program really wipes the slate. It is by far the best, the most efficient and yet easy to use explorer software EVER. Maybe microsoft should take some example for their next service pack.
Cons: Come on.. In a program such as this there are simply NO cons. Perfect as it is!

"very succinct and effectiv, like my jeans"
Pros: it cost less resource than other file manager, and lunch very quickly,i open it from i start working,it will run stably like a quiet cat at ur foot.
what i like it most is "copy and move".it faster than Window's tools, and u can see the accurat rate.the "search" is another function i like it,it search very quickly,u won't need wait for stopping like windows,u can stop it at any time!if u know the file name, search it in xplorer2 is a good idea.if u don't konw the file name,u'd better install google desktop.
Cons: in this vison,it likes that there'r some buy in it.For example,u can't stop ur USB device if ur xplorer2 is opening "my computer"window or u can see anything in this usb device in xplorer2!if u do this, sys will make error :"device is using, can't stop"
and then,if u "sendto"some files to Usb device, there is error too,but these files have been complete
One flaw cannot obscure the splendor of the jade,xplorer2 is still my good friend at work!
