This slimmed-down file manager trumps Windows Explorer on many counts, but it may have too much flexibility for some users.
Xplorer2 Lite's interface is easily adapted to your preferences. Toolbars and information windows can be moved on a whim. You can browse two or more folders in one window, using program tabs and different panes. What's more, you can customize search windows and save the settings for later use. Visual filters improve crowded directory readability. You can easily rename multiple files at once, split or merge files, synchronize folders, and shred data to prevent recovery. However, we are disappointed that the Check Duplicates and Compare Subfolders functions are disabled.
An enhanced DOS command line allows you to create scripts to process file batches, a nice touch for more advanced users. The online help is detailed, tool tips are mini manuals, and the Tip of the Day feature gives even more helpful information. All in all, this program makes the learning curve gentle. Almost everyone will find this file manager a great improvement over their current tool. Xplorer2 Lite will even make novices feel like power users.

Pros: 1. features (tabs, two panes, synchronize, copy in the background, etc)
2. familiar interface
Cons: 1. interface is cluttered
2. though it allows you to do something else while copying, it is not implemented perfectly.

Pros: This is a fantastic file manager. The tab feature is great for organizing the file manager so that what you need is right there on program startup. I use it as a single pane and just set up whatever I folders I need on the tabs. Toolbar is customizable so that you can just load the buttons you need and lose the ones you don't. It's also very stable, and very "lite" in the way of installation and system resource usage. I had several other file managers and deleted most of them after installing this program.
Cons: Well......it doesn't have all the features of the paid-for version, but it still has what you need, and for free, it's a great bargain, given the expanded functionality over the standard Windows Explorer. As far as cons go for this program, there really are none.

Pros: if u'r using 2xExplorer than u'll be used to with this explorer... nice two panes explorer and nice ******* and feature.
the mass rename is one of great features in xplorer2.
it is small and fast.
u can split and merge file...
the quick viewer is FANTASTIC!
has one of the best text editor, or maybe the best.
and tons of lovely and usefull features.
Cons: in this free version, the blocked features marked by [P]... it is annoying (for me), why they dont just delete the features instead of that (*^%##*!@ [P] mark.
and the editor is seperated with the main program. in 2xExplorer the editor is inside the main .exe
the icon at toolbar is too small, man, i need my magnifier
no flame, but if u want fee 2 panes explorer go with 2xExplorer (they have the same developer, but 2xExplorer is dead now, they dont develope it anymore, but the lastest version is already great)
or... buy the pro, trust me, u wont regret it. The pro is worth for every singgle cent

"Save Frustration Opening Folders"
Pros: I just download it and I don't need to spend a lifetime to see just from the layout of the windows that the software is really easy and usefull. Recommended to everyone who has a computer and especially many drives and/or hard disks with exchanging files etc. It makes it really delightful instead of a nightmare that it used to be.

"You had me at "New Folder F8""
Pros: Takes the good stuff I always praise Microsoft for (huge customization) and then addresses the quirks that **** me off. A new folder button? Nice! Eat the first mouse click to protect selection? You can see the coder going "I hate when when it does THIS so might as well put this option too" over and over. I almost complained that I couldn't add a custom toolbar. Then I found where to add a custom toolbar. Complaint withdrawn. I'll probably try the pro version too, but the lite version is really nice.
Cons: I don't have any CONS yet that I can find. Maybe that they want the pro version payment in Euros, immediately alienating me.
