As a powerful system cleaner, XP Tools effectively gets rid of superfluous junk on your system, but some features lack vigor. While the tracks-clearing feature is limited to Internet Explorer, its intuitive interface encompasses numerous options for Windows 2000/NT/Me/98, not only XP as its name asserts. You'll be able to clear your Recycle Bin, histories, cache, and Internet Explorer and Windows temporary folders. The application quickly scans and removes spyware, unnecessary Registry items and broken shortcuts. You can protect private and important folders by rendering them invisible, read-only, or locked, and even password-protect specific executables. On the downside, XP Tools doesn't offer as many secure algorithms for its file shredder as its competitors and its third-party apps cleaning list is particularly small. Its XP uninstaller isn't much different than Windows; however, the start-up organizer and backup driver features are handy. With only a few clicks to execute any function, this 14-day trial utility is packed with features beneficial to anyone looking to restore their system to peak performance.
