"Version number mismatch"
Version: XBattery 1.0.1
Pros
Does what description says...at a price.
Cons
Suitable free alternatives to this $15 app.
Summary
Version number mismatch: Download link is supposed to be for version 1.0.1. However, "Get Info" on the download says it's version 1.0.0. But when I open the app and do an "About XBattery" it reports version 1.0.1.
Predictably, TechTracker continually reports I need to upgrade to version 1.0.1 (which I have done). Just another example of why we need an "ignore" feature built into TechTracker so these kinds of errors can be...well, ignored until the next update is released. -
"Good stuff!"
Version: XBattery 0.7.0

This is a great battery diagnostic program for my aging iBook! People who say this needs to be a dockling obviously has no clue what this app does.
My gripes:
1. It *is* a bit pricey. It can be an invaluable diagnostic tool, but $15 is a bit hard to swallow at first.
2. The dock icon could use some polish. I have no problem with the graphs themselves. Graphs need to be graphs. They need to be functional, not pretty. A dock icon, on the other hand....
3. A quick way to organize the open graph windows would be nice. You know, resize and align the windows so that one can easily see all the info in one look. Or one big window that contains all the graphs.... *shrug*
Anyhow, this is a great app. Because of the cost, it's an app that's for the people who *really* need to know what the heck is going on with their battery. If it was cheaper, I'd say it's a must-have for all iBook/PBook owners.
I just wish it was possible to have something like this for my aging iPod. :D -
"Great little app"
Version: XBattery 0.7.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've used this app alongside other battery apps available on and off over the past 6 months as I struggled with various clamshell ibook battery issues. This is the only one to provide ALL the info. It's a great little app. Would be lovely if the GUI was tied together but at present it's customisable. -
"Great tool"
Version: XBattery 0.7.0
Summary

I haven't used this for too long, but even in the little time that I've been using it, I'm impressed. For those who think that it's just a battery meter, it's much more. Along with the battery charge level, it has current level, voltage level, and long term battery capacity.
I haven't noticed any bugs so far. And the graphs plot in the RIGHT direction (forward along the x-axis is forward in time, makes sense to me).
It would be nice if there weren't so many windows, but that's a minor gripe tha doesn't impact functionality at all. -
"Please Don't Bash What You Don't Understand..."
Version: XBattery 0.7.0
Summary

I will never comprehend WHY people feel a need to criticize an application for doing things they obviously don't understand or appreciate.
No, it's not a dockling. It is a bit pricey. But XBattery provides more real information about my flakey iBook battery than ANY other battery monitor I've found. And I'm NOT an electrical engineer and I can understand what the graphs mean.
This application does what others don't, whether they're freeware or shareware. And for those who take the time to use the data it displays, it is a wonderful diagnostic tool. (And as someone else pointed out... the graphs ARE in the proper direction!) -
"Nice stat tool"

I've got an old (about 2 years old) Battery in my TiBook and all of a sudden it's poor performance makes some sense:-)
Learned a lot about batteries these days. Checkout

for some background on those. And don't buy backup batteries, they'll die after 2-3 years...

"Works great on a WallStreet"
Version: XBattery 0.6.1
Summary

Lots of useful graphs, and it has the ability to show you each battery separately if you have two. My only complaint is that there are too many windows; it would be nice to be able to "dock" them to each other.
