Version: X1 Professional Client 6
"GREAT searches, even phenomenal, when stable -- worth $50??"
Pros: Yahoo had a free Beta version for a while and it was phenomenal. It truly indexed searches with instantaneous results in virtually any pre-selected search format. As I typed 'm' then 'a' then 't' etc. for Matrix, the results would be narrowed in real time (first showing any email with m, then with ma, etc.). That's REAL indexing.
Now, with that said ... NO WAY I'm going to pay for it. I wish it were still available on the market, it was THE BEST desktop search I've seen and used, including Google, Copernic, Windows, etc. The only one I can't try, which I hear is great, is Apple's Tiger (?) indexed search.
However, if you're in a corporation that'll pay for X1 - go for it.
Search and you will find!
Cons: - Took quite some time for the initial index, but any true indexing search engine will do so.
- It was flaky and caused system hiccups with relative frequency. Perhaps something
- Not worth paying for in its old format, maybe now it is, especially if it's a corporate expense

Version: X1 Professional Client 6
"who would want to pay for this?!"
Cons: it's gutsy to put a product out there that has to be bought when so many other sights are giving it away for free. and honestly, i don't see how it can even compare to google desktop, which is free, so the whole paying thing doesn't work for me. x1 is bad.
