Publisher's description
From Fresh Software :X-NetStat Professional manages all your current Internet and network connections in realtime. These TCP/UDP connections are established when you visit a Web page, send an IM, check your email, etc. They also appear when outside computers attempt to connect to your machine. Information shown includes local and remote addresses, local and remote ports, the status, the age of the connection, used bandwidth/traffic, and the program EXE behind it. It's kind of like Internet/network radar, and you can even block unwanted connections. Includes automatic WHOIS lookup, Traceroute, Finger, NS Lookup, NB Lookup, network statistics (interface, TCP, IP, UDP, ICMP), a rules system, logging, a remote-access web server and many other features.
Version 5.48 is a bug fixing release.
What's new in this version:
- Memory Leak Protection improved: XNS can now restart itself by the minute (Advanced Options)
- Rules: Bandwidth triggers are more precise, up to .001 KB/s
- Programs Menu now accepts separator bars (set name = to "-")
- Changed icon of Programs button
- Fixed a bug in the Filter/Search bar (couldn't hide two terms without hiding all)
- Rearranged Rule Summary text in options for better reading
- Added "Add New Rule..." to Rules Menu (no need to... see all new features

Version: X-NetStat Professional 5.48
"Fresh Software collects info on user and will sue you if you don't remove it."
Pros: It does what it sais it does..
HIGH DANGER OF USING THIS SOFTWARE
Cons: Fresh software collects data on users, and tries to sue people who don't remove it. They will ask $5000.00 for copywrite infringment.

"They should be upfront about this."
Pros: Functionally, it is exactly what I'm looking for.
Cons: I bought this before installing it. (Where's the smiley for kicking oneself?) When I run the installer, here's this stuff in the installation and registration license agreement:
"When you use this software... the following information about your computer is recorded into the Fresh Software User Registration Database:
Computers current Date/Time,
Program Name and Version,
Registration Key,
Computer Name,
Computers Internal IP address,
Username logged onto Computer,
Operating Systems Registered Owner,
Operating Systems Registered Organization,
Computers Operating System type and version,
Computers current date/time,
Computers Timezone Setting,
Computers Country Setting,
Computers External IP address,
and your Internet Service Providers hostname.
For registered users, the above information will also be posted to our user registration database ON A REGULAR PERIODIC BASIS [my caps] in order to update our registered user usage records. The post will not show up in the connection table..."
Uh, tested spyware free? Nevermind how you define that, it should be mentioned in the review. Some of this is just the kind of stuff I want to avoid sending out and that's one reason for buying such software in the first place. And the software will omit it's own activity from the monitoring:
"...The post will not show up in the connection table." Why not?
