Summary
Out of all the video editing suites that I've used over the past twenty-five years this has got to be the most unintuitive. It is a horror to get anything done. There are a lot of features but the interface needs a total redesign in usability. A simpler timeline with obvious edits and trims would have worked. Instead, they give you something that takes twenty steps just to get a decent trim. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. Most of all, don't waste your money on what should be freeware (and not even very good freeware at that).

Cons
Large software footprint, slow to convert large files. Difficult to completely uninstall and the trial version keeps popping up even after the uninstall is finished.
Summary
Only download if you want to be annoyed constantly, otherwise get something else.

Ripper and file converter programs in one. Opens a wide array of file types, including newer types like MKV files. Clean and simple interface. Uses a lot of good modern encoders like H.264 and Xvid. Good settings options to make adjustments.
Cons
Missing crucial encoding options, like UNCOMPRESSED (for editing a file, or compressing elsewhere, without unnecessary re-encoding!) and WM9. I wish the MOV encoder had quality settings (1-10) like Quicktime Pro for user-friendly encoding settings

Recommended for converting files very easily! Has great codecs for high-quality encodes. Just missing some encoding options advanced users would definitely want.

Shouldn't the first requirement of any program be that it does something? Well, this fails. It does not do anything. I tried running it under every configuration I could think of and every time, it stopped responding and died with an error.
