This program provides utilities to quickly tidy up your Registry, but lacks some features of competing applications. Wise Registry Cleaner 3 Free has an intuitive interface and is relatively easy to use.
The program works quickly, using very few of the computer's resources. This cleanup tool offers an undo option, which is important any time you deal with the Registry. Users can even set the program to check the Registry automatically, although there is no option to set a specific time for this function. One feature this program lacks is a severity level warning. A harmless entry from a deleted program is shown as having no distinct differences from an entry from a harmful virus or malware. It does have easy-to-understand graphic warnings for any entry that may be dangerous to delete, though.
It also would be nice if users were offered the option to select/deselect all, since there may be dozens of entries but only be one or two severe issues in the Registry. Still, this freeware Registry cleaner proved effective, and we recommend it for users comfortable working with the registry.

"It's faster than the other previous versions"
Pros: Earlier and much faster, so far so good.
Cons: I haven't run into any at this time.

Pros: It's free and does it's job. Unless you are a registry expert, this is a must. I like the one click feature and never had an error on "safe to delete."
Cons: What cons? None!
Summary: A must have for anyone who is not a registry expert and wants a trustworthy application.

Pros: Works just as well as the pay for cleaners and in some cases better. I don't have to reinstall my printer everytime like I did with Regcure. I stopped using the pay for software.
Cons: Haven't noticed any.

"does respectable job; has UI minuses"
Pros: Scans are rapid, seem more complete than some of the similar freewares. Results clearly labeled as to safety level. Have used it since v3 and have not had to restore any of its changes.
Cons: Can't locate where "backups" get stored; no info on whether/how changes can be undone except immediately. UI icons are ugly; some look too alike. Translucent black theme shown, supposedly repaired for Vista, vanished. Now it's ugly opaque light blue.
Summary: As a former user of Registry First Aid - great but expensive - I can say this is a decent free substitute. See "Cons" above for some objections, though, the most major of which is I've been unable to find the backups or any info on restoring unwante... read more >>

Version: Wise Registry Cleaner 4.2
Pros: It scanned my registry in less than a minute and found a bunch of empty keys and a few other problems. The detailed description of singled-out items let me easily determine whether the "not fully safe to delete" items were, in fact safe to delete.
Cons: Nothing. I never bother to back up my registry when using registry cleaners. They all make restore points, but I've turned off system restore. I suppose I should use Window's Backup to do it.
Summary: I like it because it it's fast and easy. It's never -- in its earlier versions -- given me a problem or damaged my registry. There's nothing about it that I don't like.
