This small utility promises to improve your computer's performance, though its scope is quite limited compared to other system-tweaking programs. Installing Windows XP Tweaks isn't a big deal, but it doesn't have an interface to house optimization tools. The program automatically changes a few system settings, such as disabling the Windows Messenger and Indexing Services and changing a few Registry keys to force kernel loading to memory. In our tests, we found a slight improvement in our system but an increase in memory usage, and that proved to be the extent of this program's functionality. Novices will be left dumbfounded about the changes made, and advanced users will be disappointed with the limited feature set and lack of control over changes. Despite the fact that this program is free, a lot of other system-tweaking programs can offer users a wider set of features and the ability to selectively apply changes.Publisher's description
From Small Business Services :Windows XP Tweaks will make Windows XP more responsive and less irritating by performing the following system tweaks: * Loads the kernel (Windows XP system core) into physical memory instead of virtual memory - Note: Physical memory (RAM) is many times faster then virtual memory. * Forces Windows XP to use more physical memory * Disables the Indexing service - Improves Windows XP performance * Disables the Messenger service.

Version: Windows XP Tweaks 1.0
Pros: ---
Cons: This application is no application, but only a link, that leads you to some stupid website. Requires a restart after installing. What for? It's just a link! Waste of time !!!

Version: Windows XP Tweaks 1.0
"Does as it promises but at alot of sacrifice"
Pros: Faster shutdown and taskbar loading. Makes windows use more RAM. Cleans hardrive making more space.
Cons: Turnes off Themes, sounds and other inportant services. Corrupts Help and Support and Windows Media player. Slows down boot speed and internet. Disables System Restore so computer cannot be restored till when computer was running normally.
I had to manually start all the disabled services that were were needed because I had no Windows Update, Help and Support or Windows Media Player and most importantly no sound. Had to reinstall Windows and repair Windows Media Player. Several DLL files got deleted. As a result I had more space but without dll files. Download at your own risk!

Version: Windows XP Tweaks 1.0
"I wish I hadn't downloaded it, I had to have my system reformatted all over!"
Pros: nothing, but it could have been a glitch with another program
Cons: I have windows XP, and I downloaded this last night, and when I went to reboot....my whole system froze. I couldn't get back into my programs to remove it. My start menu would do nothing, and all the applications failed. I had to have my system formatted all over again. I don't know what happen if it had some conflict with something else I had downloaded or what.....but it totally messed up my new laptop. So be careful
