As its moniker suggests, this tiny security tool locks up your PC to protect against unauthorized use, but critical features are disabled in the trial version. You can access the program's configurations via Windows LockUp's system-tray icon. The right-click menu lets you lock up your PC on demand or at a user-specified time. You can display a password-protected lock screen, configure individual settings, and set time restrictions for different users. Though there is a lock screen, the password protection is disabled during the trial. Unfortunately, Windows LockUp wasnt able to detect all users on our test machine. Plus, time restrictions were ineffective. Since most of this program's touted security features were disabled during trial, we suggest you look elsewhere for other programs that will let you tests their main functions and features.Publisher's description
From Ixis :Windows LockUp is a computer security software, which enables you to apply password protection to Windows and restrict others from being able to use your PC while you are away. It starts automatically with Windows and optionally locks your desktop upon loading. It hides your desktop at the same time and shows a picture, which you can change in the options. An allowed time schedule and duration can be defined for each user to restrict access to your PC in definite hours. Windows LockUp also supports monitor power save options and has some additional useful features like built-in password protected screen saver and network user validation feature for Windows logon to increase your security. You will find the program interface very easy to negotiate. Excellent online help is available.
