Version: Windows Live Writer 2008
"An excellent tool for bloggers"
Pros: Although I only used it for my MSN Live account, this software is very useful in terms of helping you post your blog entries into quite a few sites like Blogspot. What I like about it is that you can even be able to write blogs offline!

Version: Windows Live Writer 2008
Pros: Plugins are plentiful. Program works flawlessly. This is the item wordpress is totally missing. Blows their posting interface to bits.
If you WP Blog, get this one for sure!

Version: Windows Live Writer 2008
Pros: I use it to keep a couple dozen Wordpress blogs up to date, including a large magazine publishing site. Handy for these self-hosted domains, as well as great for friends who write up their weekly online travel diaries on the free wordpress.com domain.
It works flawlessly and the way it sorts out file size issues around digital camera images and the placing of Youtube videos is incredible. It also sorts out the text format problems with pasting text content from other software like word, publisher etc, plus has a good spell checker built-in too. I note the latest beta/test version has some new tools, including image cropping.
Cons: Would be nice if they could make it change/edit the Wordpress custom fields area in the software, but otherwise it's hard to fault.

Version: Windows Live Writer 2008
"Good but has some really frustrating bugs"
Pros: I have been using a live writer on a daily basis as a professional blogger for about six months. While it is improvement over many of the other programs, it still has lots of bugs.
Cons: I routinely have a couple dozen draft posts saved in WLW as well as a couple hundred live posts. I've noticed that Live Writer continually crashes the first time I attempt to use open recently posted files using the "all posts" option.
Little items that would be helpful in this would be to revive user to:
- save photo crediting information so that should not have to reenter it on every photo
- allow the cropping of photos
- the ability to sort dralfs and live posts by date written, date last saved, alphabetically, etc.
- allow the saving of a planned post date without actually posting it
- an effective Amazon and You Tube plug in
- more font size options - font 8 is the smallest available.

Version: Windows Live Writer 2008
"This is a great tool for WordPress bloggers."
Pros: WYSIWYG, Spell Check, Very Rich Set of Formating Tools
Cons: My one complaint may be a result of not studying the product thoroughly. The previews of my WP blogs do not show in my current theme, they show up in an early theme I used. This is so minor I have not investigated a solution.
Summary: I like the product because it save me a lot of time using a word process to create a blog post, saving it as a text file and then loading it into my blog(s). It delivered a lot more than I expected when I decided to try it. Since I am still using th... read more >>
