Window Washer runs in the background and cleans up your browser's cache, cookies, and history automatically. It also cleans up the Windows Document menu, Temp directory, Recycle Bin, ICQ history, and more. You can even define the files, folders, and Registry entries you want cleaned. Window Washer can be scheduled to run automatically at set times, including during Windows start-up or shutdown. It lets you select individual Internet Explorer 4.0 cookies to exclude from the wash cycle. This is very useful if you visit pages that store your preferred settings, such as the IE default start page. Window Washer's "bleaching" feature makes sure that when files are deleted, they are really cleaned from both your disk and prying eyes. Recent updates added a better cleaning routine for Internet Explorer history and cache files, and a better bleaching routine for destroying files before they are deleted. Version 1.6 adds the ability to clean CHK files, automatically shut down Windows without prompting, and clean IE 4.0 downloaded program files (ActiveX and Java). This shareware file will expire 30 days after you download it.
