Publisher's Description
From Cirond:
Winc automatically detects and connects to WiFi networks and stores personalized profiles so that users can automatically connect to their favorite networks without having to reconfigure their settings each time. Winc also allows users to instantly set up ad hoc networks anywhere anytime to share resources (such as a high-speed connection to the Internet) and data within a workgroup--without requiring a wireless access point.
Version 2.2 build 1492 supports black/white list.

"Too old - It does not handle WPA security"
Version: Winc 2.2 build 1492
Pros
I can't say what I like - it could not add my adapter and I tried it 2 computers.
Cons
Well, it just does not work with WPA encryption
-
"Nice Product--But unable to purchase and register"
Version: Winc 2.2 build 1492
Pros
Works perfectly under XP SP2, absolutely glitch free. Works efficiently, bypassing Windows' network connection funtionality and providing total control and stability. I have 15+ APs within range--one of which is a FON AP. It let me block FON and maintain connections to only the desired APs.
Cons
No Web site, no reply to email requests. Hopefully a short-term issue, but in the meantime I'l need to find a different product that I can actually buy.
-
"I wish I could buy this!"
Version: Winc 2.2 build 1492
Pros
I was constanly disconnecting from my wireless connection. This stopped my disconnections totally. There were even times when I was unable to connect to my wireless network with Windows XP configuring my connections, this never happens with Winc. When I pressed the buy button, the website was no good!
Cons
I couldn't buy it, and the check internet button didn't work properly.

"Better than Windows Wireless Network finder if you are willing to pay for it"
Version: Winc 2.2 build 1492
Pros
It tells a lot more information about the wireless networks it detects than say, Windows Network finder.
Tells you strength in exact percentages as opposed to the 5 bar mechanism Windows uses.
Stores preferred networks.
Stores history of your connected networks.
Stores WEP keys you have used to connect to networks.
Has functions WITHIN the program to release/renew your IP address.
Tells IP address within the program.
Doesn't use Wireless Zero Configuration service.
Cons
Not free. Hefty pricetag for something that can be done with Windows, or the free software which comes on the Driver CD with your wireless product.
Overtakes wireless config. Either you use WinC, or you have to uninstall it to get back to using Windows Wireless Network Finder.
