At some point, every computer user has watched her PC churn and wondered if there were some way to tune it up. Experienced hackers can get into the guts and do it themselves, but for ordinary computer users there are programs like WinXP Manager, which help tweak settings to speed performance, start-up, and shutdown.
The suite gives access to the inner workings of the XP operating system, including the Registry, file system, security settings, and details of the interface. The program's own compact interface effectively keeps this wealth of options organized, and an easy-to-use wizard helps guide new users through the initial process of optimizing the PC.
We recommend WinXP Manager to inexperienced computer users who want to boost the performance of their systems without digging into the internals.

Version: WinXP Manager 4.97
"Warning, will corrupt your registry"
Pros: It is suppose to speed up your computer's bootup time. Allows selective cleanup and optimization options. Creates it's own system restore point before corrupting your windows.
Cons: Registry cleanup and defrag hangs. Removes shortcuts from your desktop as a default. Corrupted vital registry settings for XP causing me to do a system restore to get several of my programs to work again.

"The New Standard of Perfection..."
Pros: There exists nowhere a more magnificent all-in-one utility than WinXP Manager. Having downloaded & tested nearly all of them, this one is without peer at this time. There just isn't much that you can't tweak, clean or repair with this fantastic suite of simple to use, easy to understand utilities. There is enough substance in this program to engage users of just about every level of knowledge & skill sets. Obviously, I bought the program. Enjoy...

Cons: Requires you to install Microsoft .NET Framework. CCleaner and Advanced Windows Care are free, try them instead
