CNET Editors' review
A rare find in this genre, WinWSD WebSite Downloader is a freebie that is a snap to use and does what it promises.
The interface is plain, but logically constructed with pull-down menus. Unlike so many other Web site downloaders, this one makes it easy to set up your downloads. You can go with the five default options to download the whole site, skip the multimedia files, grab only photos or only the multimedia files, or download only executables. Those basic scenarios will handle the vast majority of your download needs; while additional tweaks make it easy to specify files to download. Additional options let you set a download to shut down the program or your system after completion. Viewing a completed download is easy inside the program or through your favorite browser. This program doesn't change all internal links to their download location, though it does adjust some. Some of the Help file (and the occasional option) appears in Hungarian.
Those who download whole Web sites or select file types will find this freeware easy to learn and operate, and flexible enough to handle most needs.
Publisher's Description
From Attila Keszi:
WinWSD WebSite Downloader allows you to download Websites, in order to view them offline (without Internet connection) later. The software first downloads the whole Website with pictures, and movies to our computer's hard disk (we need Internet connection for this) and later we can browse offline. So once we download the Website, and later we can browse our favorite Website 24 hours a day without phone bill increase. Using this software is very easy.
WinWSD WebSite Downloader is in the Offline Browsers category of the Browsers section.

"Simple, great and Yes it works on Windows 7 64"
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
Works fine. It shows some limitations and it's not too user friendly but it does the job; when it can't download a site it's usually because the site prevent it.
To run it on Windows 7 64, run it as administrator. Right click the app before launching and click "run as administrator"Cons
Not really for a free app

"Easy and intuitive"
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
Nice intuitive UI and worked perfectly. Within 5 minutes with no need to read instructions I had the entire web site.
Cons
none that I found
Summary
Needed to check an employees personal web site for confidential material, this made it trivial to do and it was all ok.

"A product that just works!"
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
After 45 minutes of searching for a FREE product to save my work from a website I created but the server admin changed my password.
Cons
It simply works. I don't know how technical you want to get, but it downloaded everything in the directory I told it to with no problems.

"Did what I needed with no problems."
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
I downloaded this program to grab the entire website and html transcript collection for an oz ABC RN radio show which would have taken 100's of hours to do manually (consisted of some 3000 html pages). Installed with no problems and once I worked out how to use the program, did its job perfectly.
This applicaiton is small, fast and FREE.Cons
The program is quite old now so (as indicated by other reviewers) some incapatability issues may occur with new operating systems. I suggest to them to try running it in XP mode.
-I agree that the program could be easier to use. For me though, 30 seconds looking at the help file was enough to figure it out (you have to go project->start to start the download).
-Kinda ugly
-This program could have had more customisable content ripping options but those offered are appropriate for most scenarios.Summary
Exactly what I was looking for.

"Win7 x64 Continually crashes, terrible user interface"
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
It worked once the first time I tried it and it actually grabbed all the javascript and style sheet files nicely however, that is about all.
Cons
Terrible user interface and non-intuitive. Way more complicated than it needs to be.
Summary
If you can get it to work it might be worth the effort (its simpe and I was able to download the first page/files/project within just a few minutes of downloading it.
My concern is the review date WAS 2006!!! 6 years ago so if this is still a 6 year old program it needs to go away most likely :) -
"Does NOT work on Windows 7"
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
It is free
Cons
1. Does not work on Windows 7. Could not create a project for it resulted in error message that was in a continuous loop stating saying something like 'Projectfile could not be created.. blah, blah, 64-bit, etc' When you press Ok or cancel, the error message simply reappears again (looping forever).
I had to reboot each time I tried it again. After 3 tries, I removed the program.
2. The directions are of little help. There is one page of instruction in English that is very generic and refers to other pages for details but those pages are NOT in English.Summary
I tried this program because it was free and because other reviews said it worked on their Windows 7 machines. It didn't work on my 3 month old Windows 7 laptop. I was not able to use it at all for it resulted in an error loop that required a reboot to remove from the screen. I couldn't even use Task Manager to kill the error message.
I attempted to find directions online in English that might explain how to make the software work on Windows 7 or see if I was missing something, but I couldn't find any.
Majorly frustrating waste of time! -
"Software works as described."
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
It works fine for me on Win7 64bit, despite what some others have said.
Cons
Bad translation make it hard to know what functions are.

"CNET Reviews SUCK. Use something else."
Version: WinWSD WebSite Downloader 1.1
Pros
This USED to be a good product 8 years ago.
Cons
PROJECTFILE COULDN'T BE FOUND, IT WILL BE CREATED NOW." See the spelling error above they couldn't even check for. Tried to use and infinite loop, frozen, over and over. Had to power restart just to get rid of it. UNINSTALLED IT.
Summary
This product does not work at all on Win 7 64. Used to be good product. CNET is high on something, bribed or just lazy. No one tried this product on win7 64. It's terrible. UNINSTALLED IT.
