This browser gives you access to the Web designed for mobile devices, but unlike the standard HTML browsers, it isn't free. WinWap is a browser that works with the Web the same way your phone's built-in browser does. It looks like a pared-down version of a typical Web browser, with the basic navigation buttons and File menu. There may be some additional setup required depending on your connection, but the interface will help guide you through this process if necessary.

When you surf using WinWap, you'll see a page the way you would on your mobile device. For some sites, that means limited content, but you can even go to the sites you go to with your HTML-based browser and it will automatically display the mobile-ready content. The toolbar has the standard buttons to go to your home page, refresh, navigate back and forth, and search, along with a button to send text messages. All worked as expected except the last one, which brought up a message that SMS service isn't available yet. You can export and import bookmarks from or into a WML file.

The publishers promote this program as a way for developers to test mobile apps or services on a PC, and the price is certainly reasonable for this purpose. WinWap works exactly as promised, and anyone who can surf the Web (mobile or otherwise) can use it.
