    "Yes... but..."

    September 03, 2012   |   By jason_grvin

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

The video the program creates can indeed work on the Wii, and they look pretty good at that. As they should, they need to be converted to the MJPEG format in either an .avi or a .mov container.

The program does do the job it's supposed to... but

    Cons

    The problems are as follows...

The GUI is very poorly designed. It opens a window that fills your screen and of that window at least 50% is what looks to be an ad. I understand that free software needs things like that, but this is a little too much.

Also, from my research, the Wii can't recognize files that are too large in terms of file size. I was able to convert shorter video clips and play them off my 4 gb sdhc card without too much trouble.

However, when I tried to convert a longer movie (an hour and a lf or so), the file was over 2 gigs and the console couldn't recognize that.

There are options to chance the bitrate of the video and audio, but everytime I tried to do that, the program would crash.

    Summary

Should work just fine if you're using short videos or you can manage to get the file size of your video under 2 gigs.

Remember, you can't just convert the video with any old program. It needs to be an MJPEG in an .avi or .mov container.

"does what it says on the tin."

    December 29, 2010   |   By heavyoak

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

it converts most file types to .avi, which is the needed file type to use on the wii.

for everyone posting the wrong info, the wii takes a SDHC card up to 32GB. and the only file type that the photo channel reads as a video is .avi.

    Cons

    n/a........

    "What the hell?"

    October 18, 2010   |   By JorgeZng

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

    Converts videos...Atleast..

    Cons

Videos don't play on wii at all.

    Summary

Videos wont play on wii..Even though that's what this software is for..What the hell?...I actually converted some video files that were already supported by the wii's photo channel. I was hoping this converter could at least compress the file size so that I could fit more vids on a 2gb SD CARD. But instead it converted my files into AVI. format. Which isn't even supported on the wii. Or am I missing something? Bottom line......... Completely useless software. I wasted my time so you don't have to. Don't download this.

"The developers are unaware of the Wii's specifications."

    April 04, 2010   |   By dingobully

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

You can convert a video into a format that the Wii understands.

    Cons

The developers are unaware that the Wii only accepts SD cards that are 2.0 GB or smaller. This software codes a normal length movie at normal quality as greater than 2 GB with no warning or option to split the file so that it can be used on the Wii.

    Summary

Nice idea but the developers need to acquire an understanding of the Wii's specifications and then proceed to develop software aimed at its users.

    "Limited length of video"

    November 20, 2008   |   By dallen83

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

    Easy to use...

    Cons

The Wii only plays less than 30 mins of video (or is this only me??)
You have a cork board behind the movie at all times.

    Summary

For me, Wii Video 9 would only record around 23 minutes of video... whats the point of watching a 30 min movie?
good for home made videos under 30 mins i guess!

"It would be nice if Wii could play the file"

    May 28, 2008   |   By Maxi3D

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

It's free and able to convert directly from DVD to AVI. It's very fast.

    Cons

Wii could recognize the file that Video 9 converted, but it can't play the file. Also a 25 min. DVD video will run you 800 MB of an AVI file.

    "good but..."

    March 13, 2008   |   By Thalaiver

    Version: Wii Video 9 2.25

    Pros

It converts almost any file and it does play on the wii.

    Cons

The files become too big. (keep in mind you can only use sdcards.) Reducing file size makes quality of video really bad. I converted a 700mb video and it became 2600mb (2.6 gigs)
