This free IE extension lets you read and listen to news and radio stations from the English county of Cumbria, but some of the features failed to deliver.
Whitehaven Toolbar places an additional toolbar on top of your browser window. It utilizes Amazon.com, eBay, Wikipedia, and other sites for quick Web searches. The pull-down menus offer fast access to the latest RSS feeds and top videos from YouTube and Google. There's also a wide range of tools, including Microsoft updates, an online virus scan, firewall security test, and more to help enhance and protect your browsing experience. Of course, buttons for e-mail notification, a pop-up blocker, weather forecast display, online radio, and toolbar customization are always welcome and worked well during testing. But this wasn't the case for some of the other tools and toolbar buttons. The Text Translate, Play Games, and eBay Bargain buttons failed to work during assessment. Also, all of the online radio stations failed to connect to streaming servers.
Even though Whitehaven Toolbar is free, its faulty features will turn off users.
