This rock-solid antispyware tool gets yet another upgrade with added virus protection, but, with a limitation on spyware removal, the spyware protection of past versions is only as good as the money you pay for it.
The interface is easy to understand, and the Home section should steer new users to the necessities: starting a scan, checking shield status and updating definitions. As in older versions, the Quarantined section will let you restore any components accidentally altered after a system scan. The Sweep option includes a flexible scheduler, the ability to change the default scanning method level, and other configurable options to tailor the program to your needs. In addition to its real-time, browser, and ActiveX shields, the app offers several barriers to other threats such as Windows Messenger Service exploits, keyloggers, rogue start-up items, and pesky rootkits.
Version 5.2 includes a virus checker that offers an excellent level of protection in the paid version, but is limited in the trial to virus detection only. Because of this limitation, anyone concerned with keeping malicious software and viruses off their computer shouldnt bother with the trial unless youre pretty sure youre going to buy the full version.

"You are better off with The Antispyware"
Pros: The antispyware is the best.There is nothing wrong with.
Cons: Antivirus with antispyware is a good idea but don't upgrade because its slows you pc down,detects less virus than sophos antivius.Shields for antispyware is good but not for the antivirus.Spyware definitions are good but there are less for the antivirus.

"Spy sweeper + Sophos Antivirus"
Pros: One of the best Antivirus/Antispyware Combo
Sophos has 34 VB awards and it uses an old Kaspersky 4.5 engine
And the antipyware can find over 150.000 treats
Cons: To RAM/CPU hungry

"The king is back, with a good deal..."
Pros: It's Spy Sweeper, and everybody know it's good. When you update to 5.2, you can purchase the AntiVirus part for ten bucks.
I'm not able to compare the AntiVirus power towards AVG or PC-CILLIN, so personally I would wait for CNET to make a deep examination of this feature.
Cons: Don't have a clue about Sophos, the makers of the AntiVirus part.
I wonder if they're good enough to match Spy Sweeper's prestige and performance.
