Editors' review

This Internet Explorer add-on effectively captures not just parts of a Web page that are visible in a pane or window, but the entire page, although it doesn't live up to all its claims.

Webpage Capture adds a button to your IE toolbar. In tests, the application quickly saved a bitmap file of entire pages, even the parts of the pages beyond the frames of our open IE window. The captures were crisp and clean.

We were disappointed that the BMP files were named by the date and time of the capture, and the page URL was not captured or displayed at all (even though that option in the Setup dialog box was active). Although the publisher's information says support is available for other image formats--such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF and PNG--the Setup dialog box did not allow activating those options. Any level of user will find this free tool simple to master, but its limitations may turn off those seeking flexibility.

    "Better than nothing..."

    November 13, 2012   |   By RichWendrock

    Version: Webpage Capture 2.1

    Pros

Captures visible area of the page

    Cons

Does not offer option to capture entire page
Does not offer option to capture selected area of page
Does not offer option to save to clipboard
Does not offer option to save to PDF format

    Summary

I would add a fourth star if this App would give the options to capture the Visible Area, the Selected Area or the Entire Page. And a fifth star if it gave the option to save the screen to the clipboard or PDF format.

    September 21, 2011   |   By jooncnet

    Version: Webpage Capture 2.1

    Pros

    ABSOLUTELY NONE

    Cons

Does not capture anything. Installs toolbars not only in IE but also Firefox which doesn't make sense since the program only work in IE browser.

    Summary

DO NOT INSTALL. CNET DID NOT DO A GOOD JOB WITH ITS OWN REVIEW.

    "Installation required ? Please no."

    July 02, 2010   |   By peterstich

    Version: Webpage Capture 2.1

    Pros

    Works okay...

    Cons

Apart from all the cons mentioned above, one important fact remains is...
Why do I need to install it and bring it on my machine ?
Another point is it appears extremely slow for pages with 2+ folds.

    Summary

I am seriously against installing something on my machine, and that too for such a small task...

Aftermath, did find a couple of online webpage capturing services...

http://wescrape.com/webcapture worked like a gem for me.

    Hope this helps.

    "Excellent! Performs as stated"

    November 12, 2009   |   By zoetropez

    Version: Webpage Capture 2.1

    Pros

Makes a perfect copy of an entire web page. It is free!

    Cons

Not really a con, but; can not change default capture location.

    Summary

This program could not be easier to use. After installation the capture button shows up, click and you have your web page screen captured. It is perfection in it's simplicity. Also, I use this program every time I make a purchase or need to record something I have done online.

"don't waste your money if you want to buy it"

    July 17, 2009   |   By twolf14

    Version: Webpage Capture 2.1

    Pros

works decent when you are able to use it would give a 3 for program...the 2 times i got it to work prior to exchange of computer it was slow and took forever and would hang every 5 or 6 captures. 1 star is for the company and lousy way of activating

    Cons

you buy it and have to wait hours to use when you have to install or reinstall because endicsoft has to manually enter your stuff in their db..so you are held hostage from using what you paid for everytime you have to install or reinstall,

    Summary

Product is good, Company is horrible. as noted in the cons...I replaced my laptop, and reinstalled on the new one and had to wait up to 24 hours to use the full version since Endisoft, "gets a huge volume of emails" it takes them hours to respond and activate it. THIS IS NOT NOTED on their site..to me it is MISADVERTiSING. Then they had the audacity to insinuate "if I had indeed changed laptops" I told paypal I have proof, emails , chats and hard copies showing Dell replaced my laptop..the audacity of this company...As far as I am concerned they are shady and have no respect for the customer and I have none for them. Furthermore after installing on the new laptop and sending the stupid file to them and waiting many hours for a response and for them to put the stuff in the db, when I got it BANG..it did not work...I emailed about it and had to wait another long bunch of hours for a reply...did what that said and now have to wait God only knows how many more hours for a reply to see if the full version will again work. So basically if you want to use the full version it is a waste of money because this company holds you hostage from using your program you paid for by their Slooooow and lousy way of activating. I am disputing with credit card and have filed a complaint with IC3.com because if I pay for something then I expect to be able to use it within a reasonable amount of time and not be held hostage from it for days on end, just because I exchange a laptop or computer.....just my thoughts and experiences...
