Web Table Extractor is an add-on for Internet Explorer (IE) allowing you to extract tables from Web pages in an effective and quick manner. Also allows you to easily select tabular data online and convert it into files for Microsoft Excel. This Internet Explorer add-on makes it possible to find and extract data from tables into a new window, or to look through the HTML code of the selected table.

Quickly extract a table full of data from any HTML page with this IE add-on, but freeware spreadsheet users may have difficulty with this tool. Web Table Extractor's prime interface is four poorly spaced buttons on a large toolbar under IE. An additional context menu proves maddening for many users.
Using Web Table Extractor is very easy. You just navigate to a page that includes a table and press Search Table. Hover over the table and it turns the border red; use the context menu to grab the data. At least, that's how you expect it to work. Actually, our testers found the context menu often wouldn't allow choosing submenu items. When the export functions did work, they would only open Microsoft Excel. Users of OpenOffice must append the data to an XLS file and then open the file from inside OpenOffice.
You can easily pull the table's HTML code into a text file or open the table in another window. Those options pale in comparison to importing large chunks of an HTML Web table into an Excel file. There is a 20-day trial for the tool, but any user needing to pull out data tables from Web sites will quickly decide to register Web Table Extractor.
