Weather Watcher is a sleek application that gives users detailed weather information on their desktops. With an attractive interface and plenty of features, Weather Watcher is a great tool for users who enjoy keeping tabs on the weather.
The program's interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, with its major features organized in tabs. When the program is running it displays the current temperature in the system tray; mousing over it displays detailed information about the current weather conditions, the day's forecast, sunrise and sunset, moon phase, and more. Double clicking on the temperature pulls up the program's full interface, with tabs displaying current conditions as well as hourly and daily forecasts. Some of the program's features, such as the maps and alerts, open a separate WeatherBug browser window, which is a bit annoying. The Options menu offers users plenty of ways to customize their Weather Watcher experience, with lots of choices for tweaking how the program looks and behaves. We especially liked the option that allowed us to set a localized weather map as our desktop wallpaper. The program's Help file is well-written and thorough. Overall, we found Weather Watcher very easy to use, and we think it's a great way to get detailed, up-to-date weather information in an accessible format.
Weather Watcher is free to try. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Weather Watcher is your personal Windows desktop weather station. Automatically retrieve the current conditions, hourly forecast, daily forecast, and detailed forecast as reported by The Weather Channel, severe weather alerts from NWS (US only), and weather maps for over 77,000 cities world-wide. The current conditions can be quickly viewed by holding your mouse pointer over the Weather Watcher system tray icon.
Weather Watcher will allow you to automatically retrieve your weather data at a set interval, display the current temperature in a customized tray icon, display the current condition image in a tray icon, designate which weather information is displayed in the Weather Watcher system tray tooltip, convert the weather data using almost any conversion, display a weather map as your desktop wallpaper, log the weather data in any format, export the weather data in any format, customize the look of the Weather Watcher interface and icons via skins, and much more.

Pros
nice simple little program that sits in the background, and pulls up the weather data when I need it, without me having to do the searching. been very useful for deciding whether to go fishing or not. have been using it for 9 years and it has evolved well, even more use now with weather map integration. easy uninstall, easy to move cities if you travel
Cons
well paying for it i suppose, though it used to be by donation which was very nice. installs well. haven't evaluated any other ones. moderate learning curve.
Summary
it works as advertised, but i have gone back to 5.6.23 which i think is brilliant enough

This used to be the number 1 weather program when it was free and completely bug free now it costs money and it is bugged severely. The creator got too greedy it appears.
