Weather Watcher is a sleek application that gives users detailed weather information on their desktops. With an attractive interface and plenty of features, Weather Watcher is a great tool for users who enjoy keeping tabs on the weather.
The program's interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, with its major features organized in tabs. When the program is running it displays the current temperature in the system tray; mousing over it displays detailed information about the current weather conditions, the day's forecast, sunrise and sunset, moon phase, and more. Double clicking on the temperature pulls up the program's full interface, with tabs displaying current conditions as well as hourly and daily forecasts. Some of the program's features, such as the maps and alerts, open a separate WeatherBug browser window, which is a bit annoying. The Options menu offers users plenty of ways to customize their Weather Watcher experience, with lots of choices for tweaking how the program looks and behaves. We especially liked the option that allowed us to set a localized weather map as our desktop wallpaper. The program's Help file is well-written and thorough. Overall, we found Weather Watcher very easy to use, and we think it's a great way to get detailed, up-to-date weather information in an accessible format.
Weather Watcher is free to try. It installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.

Automatically retrieve the current conditions, hourly forecast, daily forecast, and detailed forecast as reported by The Weather Channel, severe weather alerts from NWS (US only), and weather maps for over 77,000 cities world-wide. The current conditions can be quickly viewed by holding your mouse pointer over the Weather Watcher system tray icon.
Weather Watcher will allow you to automatically retrieve your weather data at a set interval, display the current temperature in a customized tray icon, display the current condition image in a tray icon, designate which weather information is displayed in the Weather Watcher system tray tooltip, convert the weather data using almost any conversion, display a weather map as your desktop wallpaper, log the weather data in any format, export the weather data in any format, customize the look of the Weather Watcher interface and icons via skins, and much more. Pros: in my previous review. This is a fine application and Mr Singer deserbes his $10 for his work. I just got so used to "free."
Cons: Nothing that I can think of except it is no longer free. Akso, see summary.
Summary: Uses Weatherbug data rather than weather.com.
Must be for contract/money reasons, but still very accurate on my local airport. Updates need to become more real time not 10 to 15 minutes behind as in Florida, blink and the weather changes! -

Pros: WW Live uninstalls easily.
Cons: I signed-up for update notifications of WW, not WW Live. After being notified and opting to download version 6.1.03 of WW, I was redirected to a site for a 30-day free trail of WW Live; not what I wanted or signed up for at all.
Summary: Being re-directed to a site to download a trail version of the free-ware is trickery; and tantamount to lying. If I wanted the WW Live, that's exactly what I would have installed in the first place. If I had to pay for a weather service, it wouldn... read more >>
