With this effort, WeFi successfully tailors the two-pronged desktop version of its hot-spot-finding application to Pocket PCs. Like its laptop cousin, WeFi for Pocket PC detects available hot spots and, when the feature is enabled, automatically connects to them. Filters for sorting hot spots by signal strength and security are accessible from the soft key menu, and immensely useful for winnowing results. So, too, is the option to automate a browser launch after connecting online.
So far this beta sticks to seeking out the Internet, whereas the PC build also emphasizes social networking with other surfers nearby. We'd like to see this functionality built into the mobile app. First-time users should also be able to register for an account from WeFi for Pocket PC.

The WeFi software provides you with an intuitive and aesthetic user interface to manage your WiFi connection and allows you to automatically launch application once such connection is found. In addition, the new one-touch feature gives the user a convenient interface to launch any application or webpage from his Today screen, and configure WeFi to automatically find the best WiFi connection available when this application is launched. Each application can be configured to use only WiFi, or revert to 3G data connection if no WiFi is available.
