Unlike traditional antivirus software, VoodooShield is not a filter, it is a computer lock. Basically, instead of updating and maintaining a huge blacklist of viruses and malware, we simply create a much smaller and efficient white list, and block everything that is not on the white list. VoodooShield does not require daily updates or scans, and the white list is automatically created through our proprietary, patent-pending snapshot method. VoodooShield learns the software you use while you are not at risk, and then locks your computer and only allows the whitelisted items as soon as you are at risk. During development, we realized that if we were going to create a lock on the user's computer, we had to make it easy to use, so design of the User Interface was critical.
What's new in this version: Version 1.08 adds VirusTotal integration.

"A New Way Malware Fighter."

Pros
Blocks zero-day threats that signature based AVs don't.
Cons
None at the moment. Just be careful the programs you do allow aren't contaminated.
Summary
This is the way of the future as there are so many new threats created daily, the old approaches are becoming impractical. You can watch VS in action actually blocking threats on YouTube.

"What an amazing sophisticated software"

Pros
Easy installed, easy to use. After abaout 10 minutes showing voodooshield all the allowed programms, it blocks all, what is unknown and not allowed in "always ON mode". In "SMART MODE" it toggles between "ON" and "Learning", depending on risk level. "ON" if browser or email-client are running, "Learning" while normal use without risky connections to the internet, great, really great.
With its very low system impact my machine runs faster than ever. I have uninstalled my traditional antivirus, trust and run voodooshield standalone.Cons
Cannot find anything.
Summary
Great software, great protection. Best practical implementation of signature-free whitelisting sofware I have ever used. "Chapeau" and many thanks to the developers.

"AMAZING Software!!! Just what I was looking for!!!"

Pros
VS is so simple to use, and does not annoy me with pop ups or slow my computer down like other security software. It is really cool, when I go to the internet or email, it automatically locks my computer, and the shield makes me feel safe.
Cons
It takes a few minutes to get used to it, but once I did, I really liked it. I think the reason it takes awhile to get used to is because it is so different from other security software. When it blocked a program that I tried to run, I was a little frustrated at first, but I guess that is better than being prompted all the time.
Summary
What I found is that if VS blocks something, just left click on the shield, and then it will allow and remember your program. I should have left it in training mode for a little longer, but it is trained now.

"VERY Poor man's Firewall at Best"

Blocks everything not white-listed (Allowed Programs like Excel, Internet, favorite games, etc..)
Cons
Could be heavy on low resourced PC
Summary
Don't bother if you play Online games. VS won't know if you have a virus in your PC if you download a online game since it doesn't scan for viruses. It works like a firewall in that in blocks everything you haven't allowed to execute. Yet in fails miserably in firewall tests.
This is more suited for those who don't download ANYTHING.
