Publisher's description of Volume Logic for iTunes
Volume Logic is an audio plug-in for iTunes. It improves the quality of your listening experience by digitally remastering your audio in real-time with the same technology used by the pros. The Volume Logic plug-in incorporates a state-of-the-art five-band dynamics processor that examines and corrects your audio thousands of times a second. The result: low levels are intelligently raised and loud signals are kept under control, all in real time. Anything playing in iTunes will be digitally remastered for consistent volume level and spectral balance. Volume Logic brings all your cuts to life.

- Version reviewed: Volume Logic for iTunes 1.3
This iTunes plug-in improves your listening experience by remastering your favorite songs on the fly. Once you install Volume Logic, it will automatically open each time your fire up your iTunes client. The plug-in doesn't integrate seamlessly into iTunes, but since it sports the same attractive, brushed-metal design as the jukebox, Volume Logic nevertheless blends right in. Although the program takes up more hard-drive space than iTunes itself, its addition didn't seem to slow our PC during testing.
Once you enable the utility, you'll notice a dramatic increase in your music's volume. Unchecking the box that enables Volume Logic will let you see just how much of a difference this plug-in can make when used properly. The application boasts 19 presets for enhancing audio quality, many of which correspond to iTunes's EQ settings. For example, you'll find presets for Jazz, Classical, and Hip-Hop, as well as a few more exotic ones, such as FM Magic. The individual parameters of the presets aren't configurable, but we appreciate the ability to adjust the plug-in's volume, gain, and bass boost with sliders. Our main complaint with Volume Logic is the two-week trial period seems a bit short. Still, any regular iTunes user should definitely take Volume Logic for a test drive.
