So you want to impress your friends with your singing skills, but they only listen to boring old top 40 songs--and your brand-new karaoke machine is broken. There's still hope. AnalogX Vocal Remover works on the same principles that hardware removers do: In most instances vocals are equally mixed in both channels and can be identified and removed by simply changing the phase on one channel by 180 degrees. Although this won't remove vocals in all instances, it works in many cases and can sometimes be used to remove bass or breakbeat sections, which is great for sampling. Depending on the effects used on the vocals, sometimes the reverb or ambience remains.
Vocal Remover requires a stereo sound stream and supports either 16-bit or 32-bit data types. To use the Winamp Vocal Remover, you must already have Winamp installed as well as a stereo sound stream, and it supports only 16-bit data types.

This software is pure crap! I took the time to register just so that I could tell everyone interested not to bother downloading/installing it! I downloaded and installed it, but it won't even allow me to register this stupid thing, therefore rendering it absolutely useless! POS!

If it's not leaving vocals in, it's removing EVERY high, mid, or low.
Summary
I like it because it creates so much distortion in the final project, that the new file can be chopped up with Ableton to create new samples with "built-in" effects. I'm pretty sure that this was not the intended final result.

Takes the vocals out of about 3 out of the 2,000+ songs on my computer. Whoo!
Cons
All it does is lower the volume and add a Tube / Old Fashion Radio effect to the vocals / most of the music. Doesn't work with Metal. Doesn't work with Hard Rock. Doesn't work with Alternative. Doesn't work with symphonic. ...Rap sucks.

It installed but I ca'nt get it to show up in the winamp interface nor do'es it show up in the plugins folder, and i installed it in the winamp plugin folder help someone!!!!!
