This diagnostic tool makes Ping routines both more effective and more entertaining. Navigating the world map is quite easy, as is choosing a map with another design. VisualRoute generates complete Ping and Whois information with time graphs, which administrators can export to text or HTML reports, or to a JPEG screenshot.
Happily, the program consumes much less system memory than it did in the past and doesn t appear to affect performance in any way. The map's route tracing can be fascinating, and the results table offers a wealth of information everywhere you click. The program also can monitor response time.
You can even run VisualRoute as a Web server and embed it in your pages. For less experienced users, the analysis section explains in plain English what's going wrong in the trace. In short, this program seems like a good pick for any Webmaster.
Publisher's description
From Visualware :VisualRoute combines the tools traceroute, ping, reverse DNS, and Whois into a single graphical interface that analyzes Internet connections to quickly locate where an outage or slowdown occurs. An IP-location database identifies the geographical location of IP addresses and Web servers, showing the path of an Internet connection on a global map. The domain registration and network-provider contact information are reported for each hop of a network route for quick problem reporting. The 2008 release adds several advanced features including IPv6 compatibility, discovery of all paths to a network IP to view and compare multiple routes created by load balancers, and a graphical view of all open trace reports to view common nodes of multiple routes and identify points of failure.
Version 12.0i has an updated IP location database for improved accuracy of IP location reporting.
