Version: VirtualLab Data Recovery 4.8.1
Pros: I recovered items not found by the other programs (and the 'free' ones, too). I'd have paid 5x more than what this cost! The price was clear and straightforward, all I did was click the 'buy now' button from within the client and I immediately found out what it would cost. Kudos to this company, I even saved some data for free! No other application here lets you truly try before you buy! All the other software put together could not match the value and amount of data this product found all by itself. There may be cheaper software out there, but you know the saying 'you get what you pay for'. The free and low priced software yielded minimum to no results, VirtualLab took my breath away after a brief scan and finding all my files, and earned my business. It was more expensive than the others, but worked significantly better.

Version: VirtualLab Data Recovery 4.8.1
"Excellent! Does what others can't"
Pros: VirtualLab recovered files on both a hard drive and a floppy that other programs couldn't find or even begin to deal with. Files were recovered in their original format. You can inspect what files are recoverable before you pay anything. I encourage you to download and do a demo recovery (< 1 meg)- once you do I know you'll be using VirtualLab to recover whatever you need. The hard drive I recently recovered had no directory information left on it, but I was able to recover all original files in their original form. Try VirtualLab; you won't be disappointed.

Version: VirtualLab Data Recovery 4.8.1
Pros: I worked three weeks on a video edit for a major manufacturer. All went well. Clients approved and loved the job. 15 minutes of finished video from 16 hours of footage. Kicked a plug... lost the hard drive with all media and all edit information (EDL). Checked price for data recovery - $3,000 to $8,000. VirtualLab Data did the whole job, over the internet, in about 3 hours, saving me MORE THAN $12,000 had I sent the drive to a data recovery company. I love this company, and everything about it.
Cons: They're not a public company or looking for investors ;-)

Version: VirtualLab Data Recovery 4.8.1
"Oy! Massive Hard Drive Crash..."
Pros: I lost my Panther boot parition on my tower system. It's only been running about 3 months and yesterday when I started up the system, I experienced some kind of Kernal Panic. Forutnately I have redunandant Systems on several drives, so the system managed to boot up in Jaguar. Disk First Aid was useless... the cataloging data was crunched.
Fortunately, most of my irreplacable data had been backed up or on separate drives and were unaffected by the crash. All of the website data is on my Panther drive so it was unaffected. I did have about 600 megs of stuff on my desktop which seemed lost, including some new logo illustrator files, a UC-33e freehand file that took me a few days to create, and the data of a new refill. There were about 3 Reason song projects too. The data on the drive is toast and will probably require a reformat/reinstall. Fortunately most of the crucial data been recovered thanks to Virtual Lab from BinaryBiz.com! What a lifesaver! Since I have 3 hard drives on my system, I installed Virtual Lab on the Jaguar partition, and managed to locate the crucial data on my dead Panther Drive and save it over to the SCSI drive. Unfortunately Virtual Lab didn't quite fix the drive, but at least i saved the 2 gigs of important stuff (which i should have backed up anyway).
