From H+H Software :Virtual CD enables you to access your favorite game and application CDs at hard disk speed without spin-up delay or any CD swapping. It creates compressed virtual images of CDs on hard disk, and emulates a CD drive to access and run applications. Ideal for notebook users: No more battery-hungry CD drive or loads of CDs to carry.
Virtual CD supports data, audio, and mixed mode CDs and CD Extra. There is an optional MP3 tool that allows a 95% compression rate. The Virtual CD Editor allows you to create music CDs containing your favorite tracks. Virtual CD also includes networking functionality. See several screen shots here. This is a 30-day trial version that can only produce one virtual drive. The cost to register is $39.95.
