This tool is designed to download videos with a single click, but it came up short in our tests. A browser plug-in that works only with Internet Explorer, VideoDetect downloads quickly. Installation is a bit more cumbersome than novices will like. VideoDetect is a DLL file, and saving it anywhere but the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder will get you nowhere. From there, you must execute regsvr32 from the Start menu.
Once VideoDetect is running, it's unobtrusive, simply adding a button to your Internet Explorer toolbar. However, after all that setup, VideoDetect didn't deliver in our tests. Multiple attempts to download while using a Windows XP system failed, even after repeating the download and installation. Although the tool is free, its failure to perform in our tests means we can't recommend it.

"Works fine on youtube but does not download of aol video"
Pros: Works fine on some sites. Allowing you to download any video you wish from any site.
Cons: Does not work on AOL Video :(.

Pros: I did like it and it turned out well, but I guess I thought I might be able to download more movies... Although I got a few, my choices were a bit limited.
But for what it had done for me, it had done well. I give it 5 stars for never giving me problems and being able to do everything it says it can do.

"Works well on the sites it is setup for"
Pros: Most video sites are downloadable.
Cons: AOL, and others cannot download video.....

"didn't work, can't delete all components"
Cons: Seemed to download fine, icons etc. appeared as expected. However, it would not download ANY video. Tried several diff sites and times. And to make matters worse, I tried to uninstall, and the .dll file won't delete and the "V down" button keeps appearing on my screen, getting in the way.
