When it comes to video files, it seems like nothing is ever as easy as it should be. VLC Media Player offers a one-stop solution, supporting playback of a whole slew of file types, including AVI, OGG, MP2, MP3, MP4, DivX, and DVD. It can even function as a streaming-media server. Its open-source roots mean the program evolves quickly, with new features and fixes released frequently. Though the skinned mode perks up the interface, the program suffers from unpredictable behavior when it's activated. Also, the basic task of opening a file is far more confusing than it should be; the program gives you several options, including the head-scratcher Quick Open File. Overall, though, VLC Media Player earns its place on any computer with its ability to open just about any type of video file. Watch the CNET video review of VLC media player:

"Simple, easy to use, but couldn't d/l it from here."
Pros: Much easier than that recalcetrant WMP.
Cons: None with the program, but I couldn't download it from here, went to filehippo to download it.

Pros: I could make a playlist easy and could open the file ride the way and especially I could use the remote. It could play every kind of media files I know that's the greatest.
Cons: I cannot store the icon in the dock, I have to run the .dmg file everytime which not a good way of ease.

Pros: By far the best video player EVER don't download anything else! This program does amazing things that others will charge $40+ so download it
Cons: it doesn't come with free movies... no seriously no problems
