Ultra File Search Lite Portable, which can be launched from a USB device, has the sole purpose of helping users find files quickly, a function that we believe it does very well.
The free software has a plain, business-like interface that, like its big brother, organizes search options in simple tabs at the top of the window. These four options give maximum flexibility, allowing you to find files with specific text or by file attributes such as date or size, and each tab allows you to expand the search functionality or narrow the possible results. Results were returned quickly in our tests, and it was able to locate our test files in each case. We also really liked the Find in Results functionality, which permits searching from within the initial search results. This made it even easier to narrow a broader search.
Ultra File Search Lite Portable search results can be exported in TXT, CSV, HTML, and XML file formats. We found no issues with installing and removing the application.

Ultra File Search Lite Portable is a Search Utility which is able to quickly find Files, Folders and Text on your Local, Network, DVD, CD-ROM, USB Hard or Flash Drives. Ultra File Search Lite Portable allows you to specify several File Names and multiple Drives and/or Folders at the same time; it is able to sort out Files and Folders according to their properties and find Files which contain one or more specific words or sentences. The Lite version features allows you to specify the File Name Mask in 2 ways: "Simple" and "Wildcards", search in Plain Text Files and in Binary Files looking in their Raw Format, filter for Files Newer than or Older than or within a specific Date range, rows of the results are numbered for an easy recognition, and ability to zoom the text for better legibility.
What's new in this version: Version 2.4.0.12114 increased the speed of scrolling pages in the Results Window.
