Based on its name, we expected UVK - Ultra Virus Killer to be an antivirus program. While it can help protect your computer from threats, that's not exactly how it works; instead of detecting and removing viruses, it "immunizes" your computer against them, as well as a variety of other unauthorized changes. Between that and a whole suite of other features, UVK provides a powerful option for protecting your computer.
The "immunization" that UVK provides focuses on three areas: Windows startup and log-on, system registry entries, and Internet and Windows Explorer. Immunization of any of the domains within these categories will prevent unauthorized changes, which could be anything from a virus to an unwanted browser toolbar. UVK gives users the option of backing up their registry before immunizing anything, which is always a good idea. In addition to this useful feature, UVK also provides users with a process manager and killer, a memory modules manager, and a manager for startup entries and scheduled tasks. There are also tools for managing Windows services and drivers and an alternate streams manager, as well as features for managing files and folders. The UVK scan will scan a variety of different domains and create a report. The program comes with a fairly detailed Help file that explains both the use of and the reason for many of its features. Overall, we think that UVK - Ultra Virus Killer is an interesting and potentially very useful program. Users should always be careful before they go tinkering with their registry, but used judiciously, UVK provides powerful control over your system.

UVK was initially created in the beginning of 2010 as a simple but powerful manual virus removal and system repair tool. It introduced many new repair methods such as Register system DLLs, now used by other applications of the same kind. The last most important features recently added are the UVK system booster and the UVK smart uninstaller. The UVK system booster is a trustful and complete registry and file system cleaner, which ensures only real errors are reported, and gives the user much more info about the errors it finds than other registry cleaners do. The UVK smart uninstaller is a fully featured software uninstaller for Windows. It allows to uninstall several programs at once, supports unattended mode (uninstall without user interaction), forced uninstall (for stubborn programs) and much more. Another important recently added section is the UVK immunization. This feature effectively prevents changes to the most vulnerable registry keys and files. The UVK system repair section contains fixes and tools to perform the most common maintenance and system repair tasks. Unattended mode is supported. The UVK system info section supplies information that can be specially usefull if you're planning to reinstall Windows or trying to diagnose a hardware related problem. The information can be exported to an html file. The UVK tools section gives you exclusive file system, registry and system restore related tools. All other sections are malware detection and removal related. The set of features is so large that even if you group several well-known tools such as Process explorer, Autoruns, HijackThis and OTL, you would still be missing features like the VirusTotal MD5 hash reports, jump to the file or registry location in one click, adding cmd batch scripts to UVK scripts, managing Windows services and drivers, etc, included within these sections.

"Use with Care"

Pros
1. Deletes programs that are no longer desired rather completely--not 100% gone, but overrides many administrator priviliges needed dictatorial denials. 2. Have not had occasion to use for antimalware, crossing fingers.
Cons
3. Immunization mode works too well. Prevents installs of many drivers, office suites, OS beneficial modifications, etc.
Summary
If had not already downloaded this, would not advise doing so; unless there is a specific problem and none of the usual suspects work. Like a somewhat meaner User Account Control if used in what should be normal way (who can resist "immunization?")

It is more for advanced users.
Summary
UVK is the best all-in-one malware removal tool that I have ever tried. It includes the major tools needed to successfully clean highly infected system. Just give it a try and see for yourself.
