The cleverly named utility URLy Warning tracks changes on Web sites without much hassle. The program's compact, straightforward interface sits unobtrusively in your system tray and alerts you when it detects a change on a particular page. You can configure the program's sensitivity by defining how many words must change to trigger the alarm. You also can track sites by the appearance or disappearance of words and phrases, but you can't monitor particular areas or a page or extract certain information. We did appreciate the ability to automatically log on to password-protected sites and were glad to discover the app didn't tax our system's performance when running in the background. The trial version doesn't allow you to see how well the program copes with multiple URLs. Regardless, we can see how URLy Warning could be useful to any Web surfer who routinely visits the same sites.
