CNET Editors' review
This program effectively surveys your folders for modifications, although it isn't as user-friendly as we'd like. U-Robot Personal Edition's interface is fairly generic, but offers quick browse and grab options to select folders for monitoring. You'll be able to define actions to take place when a folder is modified, and while the process may seem tricky at first, the built-in script editor eases the pain by providing some preloaded actions. Among the many choices, you can opt to receive a notification via e-mail or set files to copy to another location when changes are made, although we would have welcomed a feature that locks some folders altogether. You're only allowed to monitor one file during the trial, and the SMTP configurations aren't available for use, although the FTP account creation for file transferring works fine. The comprehensive help file is a must for users to get accustomed to this application's functionality, even for those who pride themselves on figuring it out on their own. It requires a little more effort to use and understand, but we think intermediate to advanced users will like this app's methods of monitoring folders and creating alerts when changes are made.Publisher's Description
