Dark and lustrous, Twitterific for iPhone serves up a glossy tweeting experience with some attractive extras. The navigation does take some getting used to and could confuse first-time users, especially those seeking buttons to retweet a message, e-mail it, or send a direct reply. These are tucked away within a separate menu (represented by an asterisk) that lights up when you tap a tweet. Like many others in the impacted field of Twitter apps, Twitterific integrates location-awareness and photo uploads, URL shortening, and support for multiple accounts.

As a matter of course, Twiterrific makes public timelines and trends available, offers a translation feature, and has an optional configuration for southpaws. The free version inserts ads into the timeline, but so far unobtrusively.

Publisher's description

From IconFactory :

Twitterrific is a fun application that lets you read and publish posts (called "tweets") on the Twitter social network. Stay connected with friends, family, and co-workers through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: what are you doing?

The free version of Twitterrific displays posts, replies, and direct messages; lets users post messages, photos, and location updates; includes a mini-browser for displaying links; and allows easy access to user profiles.

The standard version of Twitterrific typically shows advertisements.

CNET Editor's Note: The "Download Now" link directs you to the iTunes App Store, where you must continue the download process. You must have iTunes installed in order to open the link, and you must have an active iTunes account to download the application.
