This excellent, free utility makes the potentially daunting prospect of cleaning your Windows Registry safe and simple. The interface is spare and straightforward, and most users will probably only need the Scan and Remove buttons. The settings are configured for immediate use, although you may exclude some registry branches and references to removable drives from the scan. The default Beginner mode only displays items marked safe to remove, and the Expert mode makes clear which ones aren't. In case something goes wrong after deletion, you can quickly restore the removed keys. In our tests, the utility found and removed hundreds of junk entries in minutes, making it a worthy download for almost any home user, especially those who are less technically inclined.
Publisher's description
From Tweak Now :The Registry is the heart and soul of any Windows system. It contains information that controls how your system appears and how it behaves. When you install an application, new Registry entries will be created. These entries automatically will be deleted when you uninstall the application. Unfortunately, this process does not always work. Sometimes, some applications fail to remove their own Registry entries. These entries become obsolete. After a long period, after you install and uninstall a number of applications, your Windows Registry will contain a large number of obsolete entries. This will significantly increase the Registry size and slow down your computer, because Windows will need more time to load, search, and read data from the Registry. To keep your computer at top performance, it is recommended you periodically clean your Windows Registry.
Version 2.6.9 features the Beginner user mode.

Version: TweakNow RegCleaner 2.6.9
Pros: The program has an easy to use interface, scans very quickly and categorizes problems by deletion safety level. The program also has beginner and advanced user modes. It is set up very well for the novice user and gives some versatility to the more advanced user.
The biggest pro to this program is that it is free and has no spyware/adware attached to it. There arent many free programs that scan and clean your registry.
READ THE CONS BEFORE DOWNLOADING!
Cons: Let me start off by saying this program doesn't nearly get the job done, and is designed for the purpose of being a "teaser" program to get you to purchase their professional version (which isn't all that good itself)
The programs scanning engine is designed to only pickup about 10-20% of the average users registry problems. For those of you who are novices, that not much at all. Basically even after scanning and cleaning with this program there will still be ALOT of invalid entries your registry.
What really bothers me about this program is that it doesnt tell you this up front. If you go to their website, click on products and then click view details on the professional version, at the bottom of the page with an asterisk it says "The professional registry scan engine should be able to find up to 900% more invalid entries then the standard version."
The truth is that their "professional" version doesnt really standup well versus Registry Mechanic which you can get for a few dollars more.
Basically, this entire program will clean a SMALL portion of your registry, while deceptively giving you the impression it's completely clean. I feel bad for the over 1 million people who have downloaded this and believe their registries are clean. As I said, dont take my word for it, check their own website as I described above.

Version: TweakNow RegCleaner 2.6.9
Pros: The best part about this is it classifies its hits to safe to delete and not safe to delete. Not in WinASO, another of my fav. This really makes me press the delete button in ease.
