Erasing your Internet history is important for anyone wishing to keep personal data and private information a secret. Tracks Eraser Pro promises to be a simple, one step way, to keep your history so clean that hackers will have nothing to work with.
This program is as simple as it promises. With a short menu of options, there are few opportunities for users to get confused and frustrated, which is happily unlike many erasing programs. There is a menu listing everything that is to be cleaned--from cookies to IP addresses to specific Web site passwords. By pressing the Erase button, this screen comes to life showing what is being inspected. When the program finishes, a status screen describes how many files were cleaned, how many registry keys were released, and how much space was freed.
If users want a more customized program, there are options for that as well. There is a tab that allows you to select individual areas to target, instead of the entire bulk. There are also built-in security options to give your computer an edge. In addition, there are opportunities to organize a scheduler that turns the Eraser on automatically.
One unexpected bonus was a File Shredder option. While this doesn't look as impenetrable as some dedicated shredder downloads, it does its job and is a nice extra.
Overall, Tracks Eraser Pro is a great download for people seeking to increase their security and make theft harder for online predators.

Overall a good cleaning utility with many additional cleaning plugin options.

When firefox cookies is checked for cleaning in the "eraser settings" it freezes sometimes without completing the cookie cleaning process of firefox, which prevents the program from moving on to the next phase of cleanings if checked.

Overall I like Tracks Eraser Pro & have recommended it to friends! :)

I installed it and cleaned everything. Then I navigated to weather.com on IE 8, and the site had retained my zip code. Went to another site I use, and it had retained my sign in information. I know some sites save back-up information in other areas of the computer, and I thought Tracks Eraser Pro would find it. It didn't. This must not be part of the functonality of the software.

Pros
I've been using TE for almost 5 years and have never had any real issues with it. Worked great for WinXP, never failed me after i did a deep cleaning; i was never able to recover. It even has a file shredder for an up-to-10 times wipe.
Cons
Except for hanging a couple times in WIN 7, and I cant get it to load on startup, I've no complaints.

I have been using Tracks Eraser Pro for about three years now and i have never had any issues with this software. It runs quick and has alot of plugin options. Have tried plenty of eraser's and this one seems to clean the best. I would give it a try.

I have been using Tracks Eraser Pro for quite some years now.
Very good indeed to keep my PC fast/clean.
Tryed later versions, but for me, version 5.5 and earlier is more stabile and has more possibilities to configure the program after my liking.Cons
The experiences I had with latest versions is....that some of the configurations have been that much 'simplified'.
In such a matter, that some things just have been taken out which actually were quite good to have and use.Summary
Never the less, I like this Program a lot, as I mentioned earlier.
Have been using Tracks Eraser since December 1998.
Today I still have the older version 5.5 working.
In assistance with " Glary Utilities" and " Auslogic-Disc-Defrag".
Its a wonderful combination to use.
Everyone of these do not take that much MB-space on my HD.
Neither do they infiltrate that deep into the Windows system.
Really helps to keep my computer fast and smooth running.
It does not demand very much strength of the processor,for most "commands".
Only to clean the free places on the HD,does take a bit of strength of the processor.
The possibility to clean the free places on my HD does work better and more secure in the earlier versions of Tracks Eraser. (at least after my experiences)
Anyhow I conceder Tracks Eraser a very good program in its category.

"No.1 for cleaning what Windows Live Messenger leaves."

Pros
I use Windows Live Messenger to chat with friends a lot. It leaves an unusually high amount of trash on my computer. This history cleaner seems to be the best at getting rid of that junk. Please realize that it doesn't stop data from being recoverable but makes that disk space available to be written over. Not even a good file shredder can stop some data from being recovered. I use software like this mainly to clean my browsing & chat tracks and junk. Between all three I have installed, my anti spy programs never detect a spy cookie provided I run them prior to scanning. To me, that makes this and like programs worthwhile to have.

This is not a con but a comment to download.com. Version 7.01 is available and runs on Vista so why such an outdated download? Outdated software downloads are the main reason I download mine from Softpedia. Lets get straightened out guys!
