This feature-rich program offers a wealth of tools for tracking hurricanes. Since Tracking the Eye consumes a rather large amount of RAM, make sure your PC is up to the task before you install it. The tabbed interface boasts many icons and menu items and may initially appear intimidating. However, spend a little time, and you'll eventually learn your way around. The main tracking section displays a nicely designed map that centers on the United States. If there's a storm brewing, you'll see its path on the map, though you also can open a database that contains information on past hurricanes, tropical storms, and depressions. It's nice you can show multiple storms at once and zoom in for a closer view, but we couldn't find information about wind speeds or actual times when past hurricanes had come ashore. Other tabs let you access satellite images, strike possibilities, and information on public advisories. You'll also find tools for customizing the appearance of the maps, as well as graphs and stats regarding certain storms. Anyone with an interest in meteorology is likely to find Tracking the Eye worth the download.Publisher's description

"Beautiful Map - Great History"
Summary: This program has a highly detailed map that let me zoom down to where the storm was, then click the USGS database button and see the building the storm was traveling over...I have never seen any tracker this powerful.

Version: Tracking the Eye 8.0
Summary: This program was about 10 minutes ahead of the NHC web site, awsome! I have used about 10 trackers, and yes like others say you can get info free from NOAA but not presented near as well as this, it is awsome, a must have if you live on the coast.

Version: Tracking the Eye 8.0
"Visit NOAA, better up to date info"
Summary: Tracking was far behind the NOAA.gov site. Takes FREE information already present and puts in an interface. Not worth 35 for out of date tracking!
